Straightforward setup and great sound
This was a replacement for an old surround sound system that had packed up. I read a lot of reviews before making this choice. One of the factors that influenced me was that I already have a Sony Bravia TV, and the integration benefits this would mean a more straightforward installation and features (like voice isolation). This was easy to install, the wireless aspect worked straight away, but the sound was amazing. ‘Film nights’ really are boosted by this setup, the ease of directing music from my phone is impressive, and after three problem-free weeks, we are delighted with this system.

An Oldie rejuvenated by modern technology.
Recently bought this after approaching my 75th year of being uplifted by music. Treated myself to this one after much deliberation between several choices. Opted for this one being wireless for the rear speakers. Had doubts about would I be able to set this up myself but was able to follow the instructions which were clear and precise. Good value during the sales and excellent sound for both music and films. Roll on 2026 and much exploration of eclectic music and cinematic experiences.

Great sound system
This is a nice Christmas day buy! The surround sound is really awesome and i think that is USP of this product! Watching 5.1 content in prime video and Netflix takes the sound effects to the next level especially with Dolby Atmos. Only Con i feel is that subwoofer could have been wireless as it is pretty heavy and takes a lot of space.

Feel like in Cinema
So happy with the sound quality, bass, and power. Feel like I am in a cinema. Can feel the vibration of bass at high volumes. Remote comes in handy to reduce or increase the bass. Perfect match for my Sony Bravia TV. Only downside is when the bass is high its really loud, and it affects a bit of clarity. And no display in the system to see the volume levels. Overall excellent value for the money.

Don't buy if you have an older TV
Bought this and immediately regretted it. The highs are tinny, scatchy and inconsistent. Says it will work with only an ARC connection. It will but only broadcasts in 2 channel mode. Can't find any solutions for this. Seems like the surround functionality is built only around eARC connection. They use proprietary connection from soundbar to sub and the cord is short, limiting placement options. Seems like they are just trying to ensure they squeeze more money out of you by forcinh you to buy a new tv or having to buy specific connections through them should anything break. The app is laggy and doesnt offer many options for audio adjustments. You can adjust volume levels on rears, bass level, and a few preset options. Only positive was the guided setup. Will be returning this item.

Brilliant with some limitations
I bought this system to replace my 3.1 HT-G700 soundbar, as I was after true 5.1 surround. The surround system itself, with the rear speakers is brilliant, and the subwoofer is out of this world. The app is also a great feature that allows you to control the volume of each speaker. There's real clarity in each speaker, even the left, right and centre speakers that are in-built into the soundbar. The limitations are these: . No pass-through HDMI, which, ties up one of your TV's HDMI ports. . The centre soundbar is a little small and lacks the finesse of an older model (HT-G700) . The processer built into the unit is a little slow, making a delay in you changing the volume. Overall, the system is fantastic at creating the 5.1 experience on a budget and sounds great for the price. I'd have happily paid more however to address the limitations mentioned above.

BAD SYSTEM
THIS SYSTEM WON'T STAY CONNECTED. IT CONTINUELY DEFAULT'S BACK TO THE TV SPEAKERS FOR ABOUT 20 SEC'S. THEN BACK TO THE THEATRE SYSTEM. I HAVE CHECKED ALL WIRE CONNECTIONS AND MY WIFI CONNECTION AND FIND NO PROBLEMS, IT'S JUST A BAD BUY.

Trash with Great Sound

Please try these steps to resolve the issue: First, perform a power reset by unplugging the unit for one minute and plugging it back in. Next, check the system menu for any available software updates. If the issue persists, we recommend a factory reset by pressing and holding the power button on the bar speaker for more than 10 seconds until the status indicator flashes white and blue. This will return settings to their initial state. Finally, if the problem continues, please ensure your soundbar's HDMI control setting (CEC) is disabled, as this can sometimes cause unexpected input switching when interacting with other connected devices. Great sound
Bought this a month ago, easy to set up and use. Was strange at first having sound behind us but very quickly got used to it. The quality of the sound is superb, much more than we need for our small ish living room but we have heard rain falling on an umbrella during a news report, films are much more involving and sport gets an amazing boost. It powers on and off with our (LG) tv, although I haven't yet worked out if I can link the volume control to the tv, so we do use the remote for volume.

Average home theatre system
I bought this couple of weeks before and it works excellent. The only issue is the sound syncing lag when playing YouTube videos. This actually disappointed me. If there is a fix with software update then please Sony should fix it ASAP.

Don't be put off because its such a good price.
Bought to upgrade my previous Sony home theatre system that is still going strong at 17 yrs old with the DVD system. Only changed out as I didn't want wires everywhere. It was important for me to get a good quality sound. Although thus doesn't have the detail of being able to adjust for music, film, tv etc it does this automatically. The sound is fantastic even though I was resistant of a soundbar (ive been proven wrong) the app is easy to use although wasn't aware until after I'd set up that it actually takes you through the I still set up too as no instructions in the box. I was sceptical as it was such a goid price but I love it. Fantastic sound and range. The speakers and subwoofer are bigger than it thought but it still looks really good.

Popping sound
Random popping sound from rear speakers. Driving me crazy I have tried everything. I am convinced I have a defective unit.

Not a great product, even worse customer service
When I tried this unit in store I was blown away by how good it sounded, and it does sound good… when it’s working. After owning the system for nearly a month, the amp for the rear sub woofer started having issues where one channel just stopped working. For a system one month old, that is absolutely unacceptable. Ok fine, that is what warranty is for right? lol yeah right I file the claim, get the label, send it back. All pretty routine. Fast forward 2 weeks, there’s been little to no communication, so I decided to follow up. It turns out, Sony contracts warranty work to a third party called encompass, and surprise surprise… they can’t locate my unit. Long story short, I reach out to Sony directly, only to be told “we need you to send back the ENTIRE system for diagnostics, here’s another label”. They waited 2 weeks to tell me they basically have done nothing, and I need to package up this behemoth system, which would also put me without any audio for god knows how long. Needless to say, I’ll be sending back the entire system alright, but it’ll be in exchange for a Samsung. Get your S**t together Sony, this is unacceptable for a company of this size and stature.

New home sound system
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The design is so clean and sleek. Was definitely excited to receive and put this together to start a new sounds system at home. The instructions are good to follow and installing was fun and a good set up. Simple remote control, that needs batteries. The sounds quality was superb and amazing. Got loud when needed and made listening enjoyable. Thank you
