On the first use, it didn’t really give me the desired look, it took a bit more product than anticipated and a few redos, but we got there in the end. It smells okay but not as good as the edge gel I also received from the Shea Moisture Define & Shine line. Overall, it is an effective edge gel for my 4C hair.

This product helps you a lot styling and has about a 15 minute wait for it to completely dry after applying. You usually don’t have to reapply after applying first layer.

Used this on my new growth because I have locs but I let it grow out so I can do certain styles. It doesn’t really leave residue either which is nice I love it I recommend it.

I consider this gel to be light weight because it didn't weigh down my hair at all. I also discovered that this gel is best for slick back styles but I liked it for my wash and go styles.

You can see an instant change after using it, along with a shine. It didn't leave a residue, but it will do so if you do use a lot. The cons: Some of the ingredients that are on there are too strong. I also started noticing my edges thinning out from using it.

I used a bit more than I’m used to because be gel is so light and I wanted a strong hold. I used it for braid out and while the hold was strong my hair still experienced some frizz. I noticed that my hair was flaky from the gel as well(probably user error since I used it on dry hair not wet. The gel wasn’t moisturizing at all. I think it would perform better if I used a leave in with it.
