The Doux Mousse Def Texture Foam Curl Enhancer - 7 fl oz

Awesome product!

For so long I've been looking for a product that defines my curls but isn't stiff and crunchy. This is the perfect hold! I've been using it for almost 2 years and I won't try anything else. I don't have any issues with build up. I'm going to start trying some of their other products for my kids. I highly recommend!

Let me tell you, THIS MOUSSE is everything!! I was never a fan of them because any type I tried before dried my hair out. I gave it a shot and loved it from day one. I paired it with the Bonita Afro Balm.. GOLDEN MIX Y'ALL. I don't know what they did to make this mousse but this is it!

Okay, I didn’t like this as much as I hoped for. This product is quite heavy for a mousse, with soft to medium hold that creates a hard cast, and at first it makes my curls look really good once fully dry and scrunched out, they look shiny and defined, but within 24hrs my hair feels dry, looks dull, tangles easily, and gets super frizzy. (See picture of high bun) I section my wet/damp hair and apply less than a pump per section (I found that less product is better, despite the instructions) so I brush it to detangle and scrunch to style - I purposely avoid my roots because I have mixed porosity (low porosity on roots and high porosity on ends), and still this mousse manages to get everywhere!!! My hands, my arms, my sink… It’s just a very liquidy formula. So I almost always end up with weighed down roots and defined mids to ends… However that definition doesn’t last long, and tbh I don’t think this product is actually moisturizing or good for my hair at all. It’s great to use when I’m doing a wash-&-go style and I don’t have time to layer products, but definitely not for everyday use. I’ve used this mousse on dry hair for slick back buns, and I wasn’t a fan of the hold. However! I’ve also used this mousse to style my edges and it works amazingly for that - you just have to work quick-ish and use enough mousse. I probably won’t purchase this one again to style my hair, and I don’t exactly recommend it to other people with my same hair texture, but I’m not giving up on this brand! (I will keep it around for when I do my edges tho!) Overall, try at your own risk.

Worked perfectly on my son's type 3 hair. Field even stayed defined overnight after he slept. It's overpriced but a couple bucks, yet I'll buy it again.

Saw a bunch of raving reviews from people with my curl type (3b) so i figured i’d try. Im not used to foamy mousses so i was a little confused but used it the way i usually would in my routine (detangler, curl cream/leave in, mousse for volume/sealing). Smells nice but was extremely sticky, stood sticky on my hands even after washing twice🤨 Curls were frizzy, no cast (which is advertised and what i wanted, but i say this negatively because it had zero hold), looked like i got out the shower and let my hair dry without putting any product in. Tried it again the way its advertised (as a stand alone product for detangling, styling, etc etc) and my hair came out worse. Flaking, zero definition, zero hold (i did use it with soaking wet hair though), zero volume. I should note that my hair is pretty dehydrated and i didn’t use a mask so that might’ve contributed? Im trying to hard to like it and this is my second time using so ill keep at it but i doubt ill repurchase. The price in itself is outrageous honestly but at least if i liked it it’d be justifiable

I bought this a while ago because my roommate uses it on her kinky curls, and I thought it would work miracles for my hair too since it’s so popular. Lately, my curls have been looking really dry and frizzy, and I assumed they were damaged for some reason until I realized I’ve been using this Doux mousse religiously every wash day. The last time I used a different brand of mousse, my curls were super defined, tight, and stayed that way until my next wash. But after going back to the Doux, my curls are dry, frizzy, and limp again. Maybe this product just isn’t meant for 3B curls. I still have half a bottle left and really wanted to love it, but my hair absolutely hates it. It leaves my curls loose, dry, and frizzy instead of bouncy and defined.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoy this product, ONLY when my hair is DRY. As a refresher of sorts. I will try it again as a styler. It smells so good I really like the scent. And it leaves my hair defined and shiny. Only con, it flakes on me 🤧 otherwise this would’ve gotten a 5 star. Would I recommend? Yes because I went out and bought 2 with my own coins lol

ABSOLUTELY the best product. My 4c coils love this product and my finger coils last a entire week and no flakes or itchy scalp. I also love that I only need this one product after I wash my hair.

Ran across this by accident used on dry hair with a few spritz of water plait and roll the ends. Light fluffy and still have definition ❤️

Dried my hair out so bad. I tried it with no other product on my hair and another time tried it with a leave in. Both times it dried my hair out completely. I then tried it on a wig to be sure it wasn’t just my natural hair and the wig was unrecognizable after. Completely dried out, it made it tangled and almost matted. It was a nightmare. I had just spent hoursssss detangling the wig too so I was HIGHLY upset with how much the mousse dried it out. Horrendous product and the price is criminal. Straight to the trash.

Weighs down hair, makes hair sticky and overall horrible product.

This is the only mousse that works for me. It defines my curls, holds in moisture and lasts for more than a week.

i don’t know how i feel about this product yet i’ve used it a couple times i think mousse just might not be right for my hair because it feels kinda dry
