Q: Since when did you became scalpers ?

submitted by Someguy - 1 month ago
  • A: All major retail becoming scalpers pokemon center help!!!!

submitted byPokeguy - 12 days ago
  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution?Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box. they didn’t become scalpers — the scalpers move faster than you, and the listings you’re seeing aren’t MSRP anymore. Let me break it down clearly, because the frustration is very justified. What the MSRP actually is (and always was) Standard Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box (ETB) MSRP: $59.99 at major retailers like Target and Pokémon Center Pokémon Center Exclusive ETB (extra packs + exclusive promo) MSRP: $59.99 directly on Pokémon Center, with a purchase limit of 2 Pokémon Center has not raised the retail price. They still sell at MSRP when stock is available. So why are prices insane right now? Because what you’re seeing is the secondary market, not Pokémon (or Target, or Best Buy). Pokémon Center’s exclusive ETB sold out almost immediately on release in February 2026 Once it sells out, resellers list it on: TCGplayer ($400+) StockX ($260–$500+) Walmart Marketplace & Amazon (third‑party sellers only) For example: Pokémon Center ETB market price on TCGplayer: $400–$460+ StockX shows an average resale price of ~$265, with peaks over $500 That’s not Pokémon selling it to you — that’s individuals flipping sealed product. Why Ascended Heroes got especially bad A few perfect‑storm factors: Mega Evolution hype returning Mega Pokémon (Dragonite, Gardevoir, Lucario) are nostalgic and competitive draws Pokémon Center exclusives are artificially scarce Extra booster packs Stamped promo card No guaranteed restocks Bots + checkout issues Even big-box retailers had widespread complaints about bot purchases and broken checkouts Speculators know Pokémon Center ETBs historically spike This isn’t new — Crown Zenith, Celebrations, 151, and now Ascended Heroes followed the same pattern. Insane

The price is literally absurd. This set is just coming out and they’re pricing it at $190… they are msrp-$60 and average currently at $115-125. Stock is tight but, get a grip. I hope no one buys your overpriced rubies.
