Wonder how it's played!

This is going to be a gift for my granddaughter who is a cheerleader and thought it would be something she might like. Have not given it to her so can’t really give any kind of remark about it. Only thing is that it was described as a board game but the box it came in was the size of a deck of cards. Not sure how that can be considered a board game.
