Q: Can you elaborate on the materials some more? What sort of nylon are the bristles made of? Nylon 4? Nylon 6? Something else? And what is the color coating on the bottom of the handle made from?

Not plastic free; also, bad!
I got this because I was specifically looking to decrease microplastics in my life and these toothbrushes proclaim to be plastic free, multiple times in their description. When I got them I read in the package that in order to recycle you must pluck out the bristles and drop them in the plastic recycling bin, which prompted me to research what they're made of - nylon, a microplastic made from crude oil. I'm mad because this is misleading marketing. What's worse is that my mouth has not felt clean once since using this toothbrush! I've not experienced this bad of cleaning with any toothbrush in my life. In addition it is painful to hold in your hand. Sorry but it sucks and they stole my money - keep yours!

The bristles need to be softer
I like this brand. I've purchased the electric toothbrushes for my kids and the toothpaste. I have purchased several other bamboo brushes from other brands and I will admit that these are the best. The wood dries quickly, they do not get mildew, the bristles do not shed, the wooden handle is sturdy and comfortable in hand. The big issue for me is the bristles are too firm. So many people are convinced that hard bristles are necessary to clean teeth and gum line, but that is not true. You can damage your gums from pushing too hard or using hard bristles, I do so for years and caused receding gums. My dentist has advised soft to extra soft bristles and that has helped. Unfortunately, these are not soft enough for me.

Good in theory, but the bristles come loose every time I brush my teeth. It’s like having a mouth full of cat whiskers. And it’s disgusting if you swallow one.

Best Toothbrush Ever
I have Phillips Sonicare toothbrush/Waterpic flosser combo, the waterpic started leaking. Not wanting to keep the system because I replaced the water flosser and didn't want so much sitting on the bathroom counter, I purchased these toothbrushes. They are the best, and seem to clean closer to the gumline then the Phillips Sonicare, noticed this the first time I used them. I hope they keep making them because I don't want to use anything else now.

You won't regret these
This toothbrush is truly fantastic. The bristles are tapered so they fit into the crevices of your teeth-not equal length like every other toothbrush. The bristles are the perfect balance of soft & sturdy, soft enough to never hurt but sturdy enough to hold their integrity & actually clean your teeth. The colored handles are awesome if multiple people in your house are using them. The only downside is the plastic bristles that you have to pull out if you want to compost them, but every other bamboo toothbrush is also made with plastic bristles so it's not a variation from the standard. I'd rather have plastic bristles than a full plastic toothbrush!

Great just pricey
These are great just a bit more pricey for the amount of toothbrushes you get which are only five but wish they were priced a bit more reasonably. I’ve made the switch from plastic toothbrushes to bamboo ones and I just want to do my part in reducing waste. I highly recommend these brushes.

VERY EARTH AND TEETH FRIENDLY
Brushing is brushing and you're supposed to use a soft bristle anyway. And, brushing is only part of oral hygiene. You must floss, drink water, and reduce sugar intake. This brush is awesome and you feel so good when using it bc it really feels like a very earth-friendly brush in your hands. Even the painted colors on the handles is vegan. Love these toothbrushes. I'm teaching my children to do all that we can to help the planet.

Okay, these brushes get into your crevices. They’re exactly what I hope they would be like. I really love G.U.M toothbrushes as they make bristles similar to this— I can’t quite explain it, but the bristles are not flush to one another, but instead staggered. Each strand is tapered/feathered instead of a blunt cut. But I like these better than G.U.M because the brush head feels a little bit more narrow, which I really like. Some people like big brush heads to cover more teeth, but I find that the smaller and more narrow the brush head, the more precise the cleaning is.

Yes, you are totally correct, we keep the size of the toothbrush head a little smaller because as dentists, we know that the smaller the head, the easier it is to brush more difficult to reach areas. I like that I can recycle these, of course. The different colors are fun. A smaller size for kids would be nice. I'm not sure how well I'm reaching some of the back parts of my teeth with this design. Time will tell. But I like them overall.
