The 7.5A Medium Ash Blonde comes out soft and balanced — not too dark, not icy, and definitely not yellow — especially if your starting color is already in the medium to light brown range. The formula feels creamy and conditioning, and my hair didn’t feel fried or stripped afterward, which is always the gamble with at-home permanent color. Coverage was even from roots to ends, including grays, and the tone looked natural rather than flat or muddy, which ash shades can sometimes do. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the light brown and was worried that it would be too light and I would not be happy with the turn out and I can say that I was pleasantly surprised. The application was pretty easy BUT the directions (and I read them three times) says nothing about comb tip so I didn’t even use it because instructions say the applicator bottle tip around root area so I just used that all over. I did leave product on for 45 mins because it does take longer for my hair to pull in the color and could feel a slight tingle but nothing more than what you would feel at a salon. A slight smell afterwards but will was again with my regular shampoo at a later date to see if that helps (I’m sure it will). I do like that enough conditioner is given to keep up with other shampoos in the future to help with maintenance on hair. I will definitely look towards Excellence crème in the future because I like being able to do my hair coloring myself plus it’s more cost effective. Now I hope my husband notices…lol

I normally use a lighter shade, but this one looks really nice too. My hair felt soft and hydrated. My scalp was not irritated at all. I will buy it again.

It did stain my skin a bit but nothing some toothpaste don’t take off. Thank you for the opportunity to test this product !

I like the brush tool included even though for my type of coloring I did not use it. Another plus is a special shampoo that is included. I just used a bit of this but it foamed and lathered up really well. It appeared to color my hair well, although this color was not a lot different from my natural color. In the photo which I took of the back of my head, I do see a gray strand or two. So I am not sure how well the gray coverage is. I would try this brand again.
