Kristin Ess Style Reviving Dry Shampoo - 4.3oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a big fan of this dry shampoo by Kristin Ess. It’s not a crazy white powder and it blends in super quick. With other brands, you’ve really gotta work the powder into your scalp in order for it to work (and be hidden), but this just takes seconds. I like to spray it on prior to my shower so it has extra time to “soak” up oil, but that’s not even necessary. The scent is super light and it lingers a bit. I am postpartum, so the scent is a nice change on my scalp (IYKYK).

It does leave a white cast as the dry shampoo is white in color and I have dark hair. However, it mostly dissipates. While the bottle is larger than standard size, I only used it a couple times and so much product seemed to disappear leaving the bottle nearly empty. Sadly, I thought it would go further. However, the product does work as intended absorbing oil, removing shine and gives a little volume, but nothing special. Your typical everyday dry shampoo.

The Kristin Ess Jumbo Style Reviving Dry Shampoo actually makes my hair look clean and freshly washed instead of dull or chalky. It soaks up oil fast, adds volume at the roots, and doesn’t leave that heavy white residue even on darker hair. I can go an extra day (sometimes two) without washing, and my hair still feels light and smells great. The jumbo size is a huge plus because I use it all the time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sooo i wanted to like this and didn’t. First off the packaging bottle is really nice. However upon application I felt this was lack luster. Did nothing for my hair at all. The biggest let down was actually the strong rose floral scent. I had it on me entire day and couldn’t wait to wash off. It was overpowering. I like it’s talc free but can’t even motivate myself to rebuy or use it due to scent. Also the bottle doesn’t hold much product and doesn’t last long at all! I think it lasted me like two weeks. Not good.

I like the jumbo size but the first couple times I used it it felt a little uncomfortable to hold— I have found that holding higher up on the can is better. The fragrance is not my favorite and the product leaves some light ish residue on my dark hair, so I use it at night so it can disperse a little better. Overall a pretty good drug store product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great dry shampoo. It sprays in a very fine mist and has a beautiful scent. It absorbs the oils at my roots, and gives me great lift and body. The only downside is the issue I have with most dry shampoos—it’s so white on my dark brown hair. It can be difficult to diffuse that whiteness without it making my roots look dull and kind of ashy. But with a little work, this blends in nicely. I really like this one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to receive the Kristin Ess Style Reviving Dry Shampoo in exchange for my honest review. I’ve heard good things about her hair care line (other than the scents are a bit off) and this is the first product for me to try out. I use a different brand of dry shampoo every other day and after my workouts, so I’m used to how to apply, let rest/absorb, and then brush through to disperse any extra. I have tried 10+ different dry shampoos over the years. The product does what is says - revives the style. That’s where the positives stop. Too much product comes out when you use it. This leaves a sticky, thick feel (think major product buildup) and my hair tangled much easier after its application. It didn’t weigh the hair down, but it also didn’t provide any extra volume replenishment. My hair just felt dirty and texturally gross no matter how much I tried to disperse the powder across my scalp. The smell is not what I expected and sticks around longer than wanted. Using a dry shampoo should make you feel better and more confident after workouts. After using this product, I wanted to jump in the shower immediately to wash my hair. This didn’t do that for me and is a hard pass…I will be sticking with my other brand of dry shampoo.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great dry shampoo. It does the job. I tested on pretty dirty hair and saw an immediate difference. The smell is light and pleasant and not overly perfumed. I do like the extra size of the product however the larger bottle can be difficult to hold and spray at the same time. There is minimal white cast when using, and if used on clean hair it will absorb oil as its produced keeping your hair cleaner. As all dry shampoos do, my scalp was a little gritty after, but not greasy and it helped the volume of my hair considerably.

It was hard to get a good picture thanks to my grays, but in person it looked so much better. I also like that it doesn’t leave a white residue on my hair, which is amazing. It also doesn’t make my hands feels gross if I touch my hair. You can’t tell I sprayed anything in my hair except for the light scent.
