I was really excited about this however when opening it I notice the lid was chipped, the knob on the lid was loose and not screwed on properly and looks like it was used. There appears to be some water spots on it. The plate it came with the paint is chipping away. So it’s really low quality. The rope on top of the handle was very loose as well and seems like it will unravel the more you touch it. The packing was torn so it wasn’t nicely packaged to prevent damaging. I was very disappointed in this and will be taking it to return.

Definitely not a tea *kettle*. Teapot only.
Even though I'm still looking for a tea kettle (tetsubin), this is a cute little thing, perfectly serviceable as a teapot. It's clearly mass-produced, but that's to be expected at this price point. To be clear though, this is not a tea **kettle** (tetsubin). It's a tea pot. Tea pots have enameled interiors to keep rust away. You wouldn't want to boil water in this, but it's perfect for brewing tea. You wouldn't want to **brew** tea in a tetsubin in any case, because it has a raw cast iron interior which can turn your tea black. In the end, my only issue with this item is the inaccurate description. I like it very much for what it is, though, a pretty and sturdy teapot.

Damaged top inside chipped.
Didn’t realize until it was too late that the it was chipped inside, also the jute wrapping flakes off all over the place while pouring.

Contains lead
Super cute but warning as soon as you open it about lead. Who wants to drink tea from that?

Juvale Cast Iron Tea Kettle
I do love the look and craftsmanship of the Kettle. Also, the weight is perfect. My only concern is the warning included with the kettle. Obviously, some chemicals can leach from the pot into ones brew. I realize California is zealous about informing of potential risks for poisoning, just wish they would breakdown how to avoid contamination. This was the only tea kettle that stayed water could be heated on the stove. Since interior is coated, wondering how do I avoid contamination while using.

Not for stovetop use
I loved the color and look but when I went to use it On the stove my house started smelling like toxic chemicals and all the water evaporated and made a rusty orange burnt look on the inside. I went to check the description online and of course all the way at the very bottom of description it says “not for stovetop use”. You should make it more visible or more obvious.
