A: Each of our Ember Mugs, Travel Mugs, Tumblers, and Cups are compatible with each of our charging coasters, regardless of product generation. This means if you have a charging coaster from your first generation Ember Mug or Travel Mug, your Ember Mug 2 will still charge just as effectively on your old coaster.

A: Pairing your Mug with a device is totally optional and your Ember Mug will still keep your beverage warm without using the Ember App. By default the Mug will maintain its default temperature of 135F. If you wish to change the set temperature you will need to pair with a compatible device. That said, once you pair and set a custom temperature, your Mug will remember its last-set temperature from the Ember App. If you like it a few degrees hotter and don't want to use the app, you can pair once, set the desired temperature, and unpair or delete the app (or just ignore it).
