I color my blonde hair to cover grays, but hate the red, brassy tones caused by coloring. I have tried many brands of hair colors, and always have the same brassy tones. This purple shampoo and conditioner helps neutralize the unwanted red tones and give me a purer blonde more like my natural color. The shampoo lathers well, the conditioner leaves my hair soft, and the purple doesn’t require scrubbing off my tub. This product is what you need if you want to calm brassy tones in blonde hair.

This shampoo does a nice job cleansing your hair but I do feel it leaves your ends a bit dry, which isn't so much a big deal if you're using the conditioner afterwards and let it sit for a good 5 minutes. I have a mix of blonde & gray in my hair and it's feel like this did a great job at taking the brassiness out and lightening my highlights. I've been using it 2 to 3 times a week and I think that's about all you need. The scent is light but lovely and lingers after you get out the shower, which I love.

    Great shampoo and conditioner

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a sample of the John Frida, Violet shampoo and conditioner from pinch me in return for this review. I found this product to have a nice scent and great lather. It rinsed off easily. Next, I used the conditioner, which was very silky, but not as purple. It also rinsed off easily and made my hair, nice and soft. My blonde hair seems to be brighter. I can’t wait to see what multiple uses does to the brightness.

    Helped my blonde hair

I was able to bring back my natural blonde and even got rid of the orange and brassy red undertones. Definitely recommend it didn’t damage my hair any more

    Healthy looking hair

    Violet Crush

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received John Frieda Violet Crush for Blondes Shampoo & Conditioner for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I am not new to trying violet dyed products to lighten and keep away blonde brassy locks. I've even tried to make my own with violet food coloring which I don't recommend. For this price point these two paired very well together to combat dull brassy locks. I didn't expect much and it didn't change much overnight but around a week or so I noticed lighter whiter locks. Not only does it help with brassy hair it smells great and left my hair easier to manage. I will continue to use as needed and recommend a try if your in need of a violet duo.
