Description

If you're looking to spice up your game night, then look no further than this board game! We've got just the right party game in mind. What color comes to your mind when we say “apple”? Hues and Cues is a vibrant game of colorful communication with colored squares all over, where players must make connections to a specific color with word clues. With only one and two-word cues, everyone must try and get others to guess one specific hue from the 480 colored squares on the board using markers. In this party game, the closer the guesses are to the target, the more points you earn. The one with the most points after several rounds wins. And since everyone understands and imagines colors differently, this party game tends to get super interesting as the players are challenged at every move. So don't miss out on all the fun during game night with this family board game.

Q: Can a color blind person play this game? Just wondering.

submitted by Kelly - 2 years ago
  • A: Yes they can. It’s about matching color perception and not the actual colors. I know many color deficient people who play and excel at the game!

submitted byNicole - 2 years ago
  • A: I am colorblind. I will let you know after I find a group to play with with. But, I feel like this is a definite yes. I am really excited about this game and arguing with my friends about colors.

Q: Is this a good game for 7 year olds

submitted by ABMB - 14 days ago
  • A: Thank you for your inquiry! While Hues and Cues is recommended for ages 8 and up, we are confident that 7-year-olds could still enjoy it with a little assistance. The game focuses on colors and creativity, so younger players can have fun participating, especially with help reading clues or discussing choices. It can be a great family game to grow into! Thanks for playing!

Q: It says 3 to 10 layers. Can only 2 play?

submitted by Maia - 2 months ago
  • A: You’re welcome to use house rules if you’d like, but for the best experience, and to enjoy the game as it was intended, we recommend playing with 3 or more players. Thanks for Playing!

    Great new game for us

Colorfuly and so much fun! I picked this up after seeing it on tiktok, and so glad I did. My family does not play games often, and were a little reluctant to play it however they loved this one. Easy directions, and everyone dove right in.

It's like matching up paint chips

PROS: The board is pretty. CONS: Poor concept; poor execution. OVERALL: It’s the type of game that will end up at your next yard sale.

    Family Fun!

Fun game for the whole family. Playing with my 5 year old and 8 year old, we're pretty loose on the rules, pretty much anything goes for cues. Still have a blast playing and it's fun to see how everyone interprets colors (sky blue and grinch green were our family's biggest differences).

    Hues and Clues

The game is a little complicated initially but once everyone got the hang of it the had great fun. Our group ranged in age from 7 to 42 and everyone enjoyed it. Great family game. Biggest complaint I have is I ordered this game on December 1 and it sat in the Fed X facility 20 minutes from my house until December 20. I will not do shipping from Target again. It seems that any time a company uses FedX and it gets turned over to USPS it takes weeks. Next time I will pick up in store or purchase elsewhere

    Not for everyone...

Received this game as a gift. My color-blind son and color-blind father really hate this one. One star because this game revealed that my 11 year old son believed I’ve been serving him green cheese his entire life.

    Fun for the fam!

I have one kid that loves board games and another that struggles to stay for a whole game. Both kids love this game! It's easy to play as a family. It's fun to see how creative everyone gets with their clues and how differently we see color. I have one family member with a color deficiency and they enjoy this game too.

Hard to come up with descriptor words

Quality of the game is great, but you’ll probably run out of ways to describe colors after a few rounds. You might have to make your own rules to make it more enjoyable.
