Q: My humidifier refill light comes on when the tank is still full. Is the water supposed to fill automatically from the the tank to the reservoir once the reservoir has emptied?

A: Every once in a while when I fill the tank without removing it, it doesn't open up to the reservoir. But if you pick it up a little (like you're about to take the tank out) and then put it back in place, it usually opens then.

Q: Had my humidifier for a year, and all the sudden it will not humidify above 40%. I change the filter monthly, have cleaned the guts from top to tail, and still can't get the space to the set level.

Great and Healthy Humidifier
Works great. Not too loud unless on High setting. Easily raises humidity of a 16X13 room to 33-34% humidity, but runs almost nonstop when used in a combo living/dining room that’s opened up to a kitchen and hallway (covering about 1000 feet.). No surprise there, but it does do a good job of keeping the humidity up in the large open space too (especially versus no humidifier), but probably need two of these if using for a room/space over 500 feet. This is the second one we’ve purchased. The other is still running (in a separate room) from last year. Especially nice is the lack of mold that other (usually smaller) humidifiers get in their output tubes. This one has a filter that needs periodic replacing and has no visible tube, and I greatly appreciate how much cleaner and healthier it seems to be. My wife’s nose bleeds (sorry folks) stopped immediately once we added one of these to our bedroom.

Serious problem with filter availability
I’ve used 2 of these humidifiers for 7 years and, as long as I used Honeywell filters, rotate them with every single refill, and never let the machines run out of water, they were great. This year the only place I can find Honeywell filters is at a Honeywell site. I’ve tried all the third-party filters out there and not one of them lasts more than one refill. I have a completely different evaporative humidifier arriving today.

When it works, its great. But there's issues all around
Pros: Put out a lot of cool humid air, relatively quietly. Portable, open refillable basin is incredibly convenient. Cons: Build quality is terrible. Basin breaks easily. Humidistats fail. Newer model cycles on and off rapidly as humidistat goes up and down 1 percent. Had some units fail after a single winter. So I have four of these because they are quiet when running, put out a lot of moisture, and are easier to manage across rooms in my house, but I am constantly replacing them under extended warranty. Quality control and reliability is all over the map, so buyer beware. they might work at first, but try to fire them up next year and who knows. Drop the full basin in a sink or bathtub, it shatters like glass and leaks. Why on earth would they not have used a more durable clear plastic?

It definitely is meant for a bigger room - so we have been using it in our living room where my little one plays a lot and where we hang out the most! I love that you can’t actually SEE the mist coming out but I had to show with a tissue to see how much air comes out! This is going to be PERFECT for the winter and the dryer weather! Definitely will help all of us! I did read about issues with it leaking (from previous reviews) but thankfully, so far no leaks! Hopefully it stays that way! Not too loud at all! You do hear it (at the high level), but the sound is comforting to us! It also is really easy to refill, especially with the top fill tank! Super happy with this humidifier so far! I received this product in exchange for my honest feedback.

There isn’t a max fill line on the very tall tank which will only work if you have a sink with a sprayer. It’s as tall as our air purifier. We do like that you can choose how much humidity you want.

Life saver

Particularly the first few weeks of school when the kids inevitably bring home some horrific bug that takes out the entire family! This product was a life saver! When we all fell sick and our noses were stuffed up, we plugged this guy in and let it run during the night time. It was crazy how we woke up without stuffy noses! The machine itself is sleek and easy to maintain. It filled the entire room with the mist and was not overwhelming. The machine is sleek and fits comfortably in any open area. I did not notice any significant noises coming from the machine during use. I highly recommend this for all families who will face the sicknesses that a new school year brings!

Stylish, effective and surprisingly quiet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Honeywell Top Fill Tower Humidifier for a while now and I’m really happy with it. First of all, I love how stylish it looks. The clean and modern design easily blends into my home and even complements the space. The top fill feature makes it very convenient to use since refilling the tank takes just a moment. I also noticed that the air feels much more comfortable and my skin is less dry, especially in the evenings. As for the noise, it runs fairly quietly. On the lower setting it is barely noticeable and creates only a light background sound, and on the highest setting it is more like a soft white noise similar to a quiet fan. It is comfortable enough even for sleeping or relaxing and I do not find it disturbing at all. Overall, I am very satisfied with this humidifier. It works great, looks beautiful in my home and is easy to use.
