Multitool of a watch.
Having experience previous Garmins. (Music 255, Instinct 1 and Instinct 2) I had this one as a gift. At first, I was surprised because I had no prior knowledge. It's small but compact in functionality. If you're multi sport but looking for something that looks with style or a blend to wear to the gym and office. This one is it. Holds well with sweat (Running, CrossFit, tested), touch screen can be turned off, the screen is amazing, and you can modify the faces and watch features. The wristband could be a bit longer. Even for a small wrist like mine, I felt it a bit snug. But, nothing that can't be replaced.

Nice Upgradd
I bought the forerunner 265S after having a forerunner 245 for a few years and I’ve loved the change. I’ve had no issues with setting up any of the features and it has some more metrics that it tracks which I like.

Disappointed
I bought this about 3 weeks ago and have been extremely disappointed. The algorithm seems to live in an alternate universe. It tells me I’m deconditioned and to do 17 miles…. I’m not a marathoner! I had a forerunner 246 for many years and only retired it because it could no longer go in the pool without shorting out. The 265s is a vastly inferior product. I swim a lot so was looking forward to being able to track my swim workouts. Lap counting and interval timing are ok but using the drill function for kick sets is clumsy, about 70% of the time hitting the button to end the drill bumps you out of the workout completely then you have to wait for the watch to reboot and start a new workout. If you want to have your kick set logged you have to do it manually later on your phone. The brightness of the display also dims pretty quickly so it can be hard to see the timer through your googles as you wait to start your next interval. Seems to be ok on my runs although I’m vary curious as to why my vo2 max went from top 5% for my age to top 30% when I switched watches…. HRV is a nice addition. I will be returning this watch on Monday. It is not worth keeping, I have been a loyal Garmin user for 15 years but I think I’ll try another brand after this experience

Great watch
Would highly recommend for any athlete who wants a solid (but not too fancy) watch to track their activities. Great battery life and works well for mtb, skiing and swimming. Heart rate monitor works well during activity too. Only issue I’ve had is it doesn’t have a backcountry ski recording feature so I’ve had to record it under a run or hike and change it after.

Inconsistent tracking of swim laps
Bought this to track my swimming laps. Originally happy then after about 3 mos it started giving inconsistent results (ex. would show I swam 51 mins/ 2000 meters, then would synch to display 55 min/2350 meters). Sent it back, received replacement, spent hours with Help Support and followed their recommendations. Seemed to be accurate 1 out of every 3 swims. Finally took it off couple days ago & no intention to use it. It's easier to just watch the clock at the pool. A lot less stressful!!

Best gift ever
I have wanted a new watch for a long time. I had a 14 year old forerunner. This was a great decision. It's so intuitive and gives so much information. I love it.

Nice upgrade
I've had this watch in a box for 2 years and finally had to break down and start using it when my FR245Music battery just wasn't cutting it. It is a bit different but not so much that the learning curve was massive.

Had to return my old Garmin due to a technical glitch. So far the replacement is working well and holding charge. I’m incredibly impressed with Garmin Support

Solid 245 upgrade
Absolutely loving this watch! I bought it around a year ago as a replacement to my 245. While I primarily use it for hiking and cycling, it’s on my wrist pretty much 24/7. Love the smaller face compared to the standard size. I’d recommend to anyone from walkers to marathoners. Great beginner interface with tons of data on sleep, menstrual cycles, and overall health!

No accurate for sleep & poor connection to iPhone
The garmin looks better than my Apple Watch but it’s very glitchy with the connection to my phone and often doesn’t display weather and other metrics. Texts don’t come through reliably either

Love it
Great addition to my MTB kit. I have always shied away from wearing a watch, but the janky GPS signal from my phone when recording Strava made me consider a Garmin. Since I've gotten it, I've completely adopted it's functions into my life, and find great benefit from tracking my sleep quality, fitness metrics, HR, and more. It also serves as a great link to my phone, saving me the trouble of pulling out my phone every time I get a notification. Excellent product.

Great watch for running
The 265s has been extremely helpful and motivational in getting into a regular workout routine (from 0 to 3 workouts per week). The charts and metrics are helpful. Before I was always running race pace and not sticking with a set running plan. Now I use the running zones and try to stay in zone 2 or 1 for 80% of weekly workout plan so I get more running in and build up my endurance. Also, the watch allows you to setup interval runs and setup custom pace target ranges for your workout. For example on my easy run, I setup pace for 10 to 11 min per mile and it gives audible alerts in real time to you when going outside of target pace range while listening to offline music at same time. It also features a trainer program that builds a custom training plan for you based on an upcoming marathon, etc. The features I am using are barely breaking the surface of what is available on the watch. I rarely take time to write reviews but have been thoroughly impressed with this watch.

Unreliable heart rate readings
I bought this as an upgrade to my FR45 and was excited for the brilliant screen and advanced features. Unfortunately, that excitement has been replaced with disappointment and annoyance. Two of the key features are complete fails: The optical heart rate and the Bluetooth headphone connection. Allow me to elaborate. The OHR is completely unreliable. During activities, it often displays a heart rate I know is grossly incorrect just from feel. Sometimes I'll take the watch off and immediately put it back on and the HR will jump up 10-20 beats in a matter of seconds. If I want HR with any degree of accuracy, I have to wear a chest strap, which is unfortunate. If you read the Garmin forums, there are many other users plagued by the inaccuracy of the OHR on this watch, and everyone is frustrated by it. Second issue is the Bluetooth connection to headphones randomly and repeatedly dropping. The main reason I bought this watch was for the music functionality (so I could leave my phone behind during runs), but it's so bad, it's useless. I have to run with either my phone or a separate MP3 player if I want to listen to music. If I had to do it all over, I would not have bought this watch.

Wear it everyday
I have used this watch for triathalon, running, biking, paddling (the sup feature), pool and open water swimming and I love it! I think it’s a lot cuter/fits better as a “S” than the normal sized garmins. I like the white and teal too. Activity tracking seems accurate and it has way more metrics than I could ever want. I also like that it has tap to pay. I’ve never been able to set up the Spotify features, but I think that’s user error. The heart rate monitor is nice and it does a great job projecting heart rate to my bike computer (Garmin) and to my bike trainer (wahoo).

Perfect running watch (and everyday watch)
The battery life is amazing. The OS is very intuitive and the app it connects to is great. I use this for running & everyday wear. The gps & all health metrics are extremely accurate. Could not ask for a better watch.
