This is the worst Downy product I have ever purchased. Even using a very tiny amount of the softener, it leaves a film on the clothes. It also really caused residue in the dispenser on my washing machine. It just took me 30 minutes to clean it, after only using this product in 3 loads of laundry! It is a complete waste of money and I will be disposing it, rather than using. Very sad in today's economy. This product is not GENTLE as advertised! Not even worthy of one star, however can't submit without a rating.

We're disappointed to hear this. Due to the rigorous quality tests that Downy products have undergone, this isn't the experience we expect. Typically this can occur if the detergent has combined with the fabric softener. To prevent this, make sure the fabric softener is dosed in the fabric softener compartment of the dispensing drawer. I was highly unhappy with the fact that when this item arrived, about half of the liquid in the bottle had leaked out into the bag and all over the place as the bag did not contain the liquid. I have included pictures of the bag opened with most of the liquid drained out of it below.

Softer clothes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cute packaging is what drew my attention to this fabric softener. My clothes were definitely softer after using! I liked the scent straight from the bottle, but for some reason after I washed my clothes with it, they smelled like they were burnt. Once I dryed them they smelled okay again though!

Very heavily scented softener
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay so this fabric softener definitely does its job- makes clothing soft. My issue with it is the container advertises no heavy dyes or perfumes but the scent is SO strong. It smells like a strong cologne. This might be what some people want, but for me personally I would rather have a light scent or unscented. This strong smell is migraine triggering so I don’t think I will use it on my own clothing. Might be better for smelly sports clothing where covering a scent is desired. Overall the product itself isn’t bad, the smell is just too overpowering.
