A: It is 120 volts. I don't think it will work in Europe.

A: All of the settings on this grinder make "Fine" grounds. The coarse setting makes medium find grounds. If you want coarse grinds -- look elsewhere. I am very disappointed in this machine.

A: Yes, I suppose you could. It would be a little over powered for just regular kitchen use and much more work to clean out between spices. I use a small inexpensive grinder for spices, they usually are around $10.

A: You don't really want a grinder that is too fast. It builds up heat due to the speed and that can effect your beans.
submitted byclf - 8 years agoA: The setting in front is for the approximate number of cups of brewed coffee in ground coffee needed. The top setting is for how fine a grind you want. The finer the grind the slower it will grind because it brings the blades closer together. A more uniform grind speed can be achieved by keeping the bean hopper full so it always puts downward pressure on the beans to enter the grinding chamber. All that being said it should grind the beans at the same rate as any other comparable grinder. I've had mine for over a year and find it to be the best grinder for under $100. Hope that helps!

Q: I just bought this grinder. There is a mark on the dial that selects Fine/Medium/Course. Is it supposed to be screwed all the way in so mark is about 9 o'clock or is it supposed to face you.

Best value in coffee grinders
This is our third Cuisinart coffee grinder. Each worked for more than 10 years and each likely failed because of an issue with coffee bean quality (rather than normal wear and tear). It's a very consistent grinder (grind size and volume), easy to clean, and generally trouble free. Both the bean hopper and ground coffee hold a decent amount of coffee. I'd give five stars if the grind amount/cup were closer to the previous version and if the grind bin were a different plastic (with less static making the coffee stick in the bin.)

Steep Learning Curve
Difficult to determine amount and grind to use initially and is very noisy. The previous grinder we had was easier and quieter.

Flat out terrible. Barely any power. Hopper gets plugged up easy and the ground coffee amount is inconsistent. Sounds like a kids toy. Zero stars

Static produced in grounds in plastic container
I like the grinding feature of the Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill. However, there is a terrible static issue with the ground coffee. It gets everywhere when trying to use the ground coffee. I was excited to grind beans fresh daily, but resorted to filling a glass container for weekly use. I believe if the container for the ground beans was stainless steel, like the rest of the grinder, this would not happen. I'm thinking about returning the grinder, unless this issue can be easily resolved. I'm tired of cleaning up flying grounds whenever I use it.

Noisy and messy
It is ok. It is considerably noisier than the other brand od burr grinder I had before. It is also difficult to get the grind out of the hopper without making a mess. Lots of static.

This is one of the most well designed coffee grinders I have ever used! I have used some in the past that is a four step or more process and makes a mess when I try to transfer the grounds to my coffee maker. I recently bought a Cuisinart coffee maker and decided to try to use the stand alone Cuisinart coffee bean grinder because I love this brand. I can load the hopper up with a week’s worth of beans, set the coarseness to my husband and my liking, and the amount of cups that we desire. Basically, after I set it up, it is defaulted to our daily likes. From that point on, I just hit the start button in the morning, pull the hopper out and shake the grounds out through the opening in the hopper directly to the filter basket in my Cuisinart coffee maker with absolutely no mess!! I highly recommend this product.

Burr Mill for a great price
It's a very good price for a Burr Mill coffee bean grinder. We enjoy using it for fresh coffee. It matches perfectly with our aeropress. So effortless for a good cup of coffee. One thing I find needing improvement though is sometimes beans got stuck and don't get grinded unless I shake the whole thing for a bit so the beans will move into the grinder part.

Defective
Either this grinder is defective or the design is defective. There is a big gap between the grind chamber and the machine, within 5 seconds of turning it on, half of the ground coffee flies out. Not only making a mess but wasting half of my coffee. Need to return it.

Not meant for grinding more than4 or 5 teaspoons
Just Average at Best, not meant for any higher volumne than current use. Very messy as well. Buy a better product. I should know better since my previous one broke after a few uses.

Good Burr Grinder
The burr grinder is a flat grinder. I’m not sure if this makes a difference. The grind is consistent but it does take its time. The hopper is a good feature allowing a large quantity of beans to be ground. The controls are easy to use and work appropriately. The bin catching the grind is neat and tidy with no dust or spillage. The bin has a removable lid which allows for easy emptying. All in all it’s a good grinder but you need to be patient and take the time to let it do its job.
