Cuisinart 2pc 8" and 10" FusionPlus Stainless Steel Skillet Set

I purchased this product recently and am very unhappy with its performance. The product is not as nonstick as advertised. The pans are difficult to clean and heat unevenly. Residue accumulates that is difficult to remove after cooking. I feel the advertising for this product is misleading. Would advise you to save your money and invest in a Hexclad pan.

I've been using Cuisinart non-stick skillets for 20+years, but felt the need to switch to something without PFAS etc. chemicals. The Fusion Plus looked like a great alternative. I purchased the 2-pack with 8" and 10" pans and cooked with them for a few weeks in the same manner I used my previous Cuisinart nonstick skillets. The new pans are not really "nonstick" in the way we have come to know the performance of PFAS and related surfaces. With these pans, you cannot expect eggs to slide right out onto a plate, for example. Food does stick to them and I've noticed a specific problem with the accumulation of "sticky" material similar to the thick gobs of polymerized fats on improperly seasoned cast iron. The raised stainless steel ridges patterned across the cooking service also seem to hinder the use of silicone and nylon utensils as they aren't able to "wipe" the surface between the ridges clean. The pans also do not seem to heat as evenly as the original nonstick pans from Cuisinart I'd loved over the years. They tend to heat quicker and hotter around the perimeter of the bottom surface. That also seems to be where the sticking problems are found. I think these pans may require a recalibration of what we expect from nonstick pans. or a rethinking of what the expected use of these pans (e.g. searing with the same expected level of clean up rather than gentle cooking) They are certainly not a direct replacement for traditional nonstick.
