The origina is way better
I guess I got this in a GWP, just found it and used it. i personaly like the original, no charcoal better. I am not understanding what the charcoal does except get all over my face cloth. I didn't like the black color on my face, what is the point of that? And also the sample I got smelled rancid like another reviewer. Just a hard NO for me.

The product I received has a stale, rancid smell. I wouldn't use it on my skin or anyone else's. I'm not sure if this is how it is supposed to smell or if I've received an old, expired product. I'm usually happy with Clinique products, order them often, and highly recommend them, but not this one.

All Over Bad Product
I normally love Clinique products, but I HATE this one. The smell is AWFUL! It doesn't remove makeup, just smears it. And finally, leaves a film on face that my cleanser can't take off (nor does the cleanser get rid of the smell). So disappointed that I wasted any money on this product.

Better for oily skin
This charcoal containing remover works better for my super oily skin in comparison to original balm. I'm removing one star for incorrect description " for dry combination to oily skin". For dry or dry combination skin types try the original ( white) product

Wanted to love this but it stains
I loved this product initially. It feels nice on my skin and takes off a day of heavy makeup! It unfortunately also stained my bathroom counter tops. I have scrubbed them repeatedly and am left with ugly purple stains. I also had on a Samsung watch with a cream band that is permanently stained as well. Very upsetting.

This is my favorite makeup remover, and I am not on my way to trying the one without charcoal. I love this product because it eliminated the need to use wipes or cotton pads and can be simply washed off with water

Charcoal cleansing balm!!
I usually purchase the regular Take the Day Off cleansing balm but I decided to try this one with the charcoal.. I really love the way it makes my skin feel so soft and clean! This has actually helped my pores look better and I wasn't expecting to see a real difference between the 2 cleansing balm products. I have very large pores and this product has made the pores look smaller. I wish I had of tried it earlier because I really love this product! When I put it on I rub into my skin really good and leave it for a couple minutes then rinse my splashing water on to my face and follow with the jelly cleanser. I see some people just wipe off with a dry cloth. But I have sensitive skin so I always want to make sure I get it all off. It doesn't make a mess in the sink like some charcoal cleansers do. It rinses off nicely. This is my new favorite!

Simple & So Clean!
I received a sample and at first thought this wouldn't be a great option for my oily skin, however, I was so excited to find out how great this product is! The container makes it easy to grab the perfect amount and a little goes a long way. I like to put it on before my shower and rub it in, allowing it to dissolve the make up. Then a few quick wipes and a pump of my oily skin liquid soap and I feel so clean and ready for my clarifying lotion 4 and my DD gel! I am really excited that this was a new offering. I'd love to see it available in a travel size more often, as I travel for work and the larger jar is a bit bulky for travel.

Great makeup balm
Love using this to take off my makeup. I use a makeup eraser cloth to wipe it off and follow up with a gentle cleanser. Perfect way to take off my makeup without breaking out.

This was horrible option
I received a trial size of the charcoal remover and decided to try it. First, it smelled of petroleum, a very chemical smell, and stained my washcloth when I wanted to remove it. I cannot think of ever using this product when so many other options are available.

Don't bother, not worth the $$.
The review system won't let me give it NO stars, which is what it deserves. Thank goodness I didn't actually pay $$ for it, but rec'd it as a sample. It's messy to use, takes a ton of tissues to wipe off (not good for the environment), didn't remove all my eye makeup and irritated my eyes (despite the claim that it is good for sensitive skin and eyes). If you want a good eye makeup remover, stick with the tried & true Take the Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips.

Makes my skin soft
I love this product. In the winter my skin gets so dry and itchy and I can't hydrate it enough. I used this today an was impressed how well it removed my waterproof mascara, eye makeup without burning my eyes. Followed up with take the day off wash and applied my super hydration lotion and all about eyes. My face feels so good. I'm thinking after using daily for the next week my skin should be back to normal.

Refreshing for acne prone skin!
I wasn't looking for this take the day off balm but tried it after I received it in my Ipsy bag. I am pleasantly surprised how soft and refreshed my broken out skin feels. My hard to remove eye liner and eyeshadow came right off really using it with my make up eraser. Usually the makeup eraser cloth doesn't remove all my eye make up on its own. My skin is very sensitive, oily and acne prone but it's helped to calm my break out without over drying it.

I'm not very pleased, it does not removed very well waterproof mascara. I used to use the take the day off original and works very well for waterproofing
