Fragile - poor quality control
When I dropped onto a hard floor, the handle shattered long the grain. Iy looks like the problem involved voids in the plus where the spline meets the handle, but it might have been that the cutout for the spline was too large for a cedar handle. In any event, it should not have handled, and Brazos did not stand up to they purported warranty.

Beautiful & Strong
This is a beautiful cane, and the walnut lamination makes it very strong but light. I feel secure using it. The fragrance is nice, too.

Hickory Free Form
I just purchased a Hickory walking cane. I also have a Sassafras cane.I managed to leave the Sassafras cane out of state. Rather than turning around and going back for it I chose to buy a second cane, the Hickory cane. I am very pleased with both in terms of quality and more importantly the extra support when dealing with some of my mobility issues relating to my back.

An Amazing Find
I found this company 2 years ago while looking for a stylish cane for my 25 year old son who has to use a cane now due to an auto accident. He absolutely loved it when I gave it to him for Christmas and always gets complements on it. I bought him another one this year-The Free Form Twisted Hickory Walking Cane and it is beautiful! So very happy with the color, the professional look and even the rubber tips are good quality. I highly recommend this company and their canes!

What the Dr ordered!
Went thru power wheelchair, crutches and walking stick. Brazos helped me get my mobility back in great fashion. Just received my hickory cane and could not be happier. Great craftsmen in Texas.

Over a year, the handle glue and Sealant has failed
Follow up to: Elegant perfection by John â€" 8th Feb 2014 After a month of having the cane stored in my car, the Hickory shrank and broke the glue bond between the stick and handle. NOTE: Since I need my cane almost daily, waiting for a replacement was not acceptable. The cure was to clean out the factory glue in the handle joint and then fill it with 10 minute epoxy, wiped off excess on the outside. 10 months later, the handle is great. However, after taking a walk on our property in the woods, the cane sank into the muck and old tree base pits, the lacquer on the stick failed quickly. It has, as a result become quite unsightly, but I still use it as my only cane on a near daily basis. It almost appears to have as much age on it as I do! Next step is to chem strip the stick, clean it up and use a water based sealer over all of the sticks uniqueness.

Very, Very Nice
Ordered on the 24th, received on the 26th. Now that is fast delivery service. And the twisted hickory cane is a real beauty. Will split time with the hardwood root cane and the leopardwood with maple handle cane. They are all very nice, handcrafted useful tools.

Beautiful walking stick!
Stunning beauty! The cedar and walnut go together perfectly. The cane is lightweight because of the cedar but strong because of the walnut lamination.

Great cane ...
This is a great looking cane and feels like it will last forever. I am only giving it 4 stars to give a heads up to anyone who will need to cut it down significantly like I did. Because it is a "freeform" cane, it is not straight at the bottom where I needed to trim it. I ended up cutting it at an angle to compensate and make it stand flush against the ground. It looks a little odd, but works perfectly fine. I am 5'8" and am going to buy another cane as well, just going to make sure to buy one that is straight all the way through. Once again, this would be a 5 star review if not for the one issue I had. It might behoove Brazos to put a disclaimer in the description of the freeform canes that this could be an issue. [We offer free cane sizing to avoid this issue. Just leave a note in checkout saying what size you want your cane sized down to. - Brazos]

beautiful stick
I ordered it too short but I found I could fit several nickels inside the ferrule which has improved it somewhat. Lots of complements.
