Brazos, a Briggs Healthcare Company, is a family operated business located in the beautiful Brazos River Valley area of central Texas. We’ve been producing the highest quality handcrafted sticks and canes for more than 15 years. Our products are made by skilled craftsmen in small, “cottage industry” workshops located within a few miles of our facilities. Brazos walking canes offer natural appeal because they are made from real wood. You can see the fine detail and beauty of the actual tree. Each cane is a work of art. it is common for the canes and sticks to have cracks, especially on the ends. These naturally formed cracks do not inhibit the stability of the staffs in anyway but help define the character.

A great cane and great service

I broke a foot bone on Friday and needed a good cane. Found the website for the Brazos Walking Sticks and knew this is what i was looking for. I ordered one of these canes on Sunday and received it on Tuesday. Wow, nice cane and functional. I'm 6'2", ordered the 40" size and cut-off 1.5" and it was an excellent fit. I'm a very satisfied customer.

It was worth the wait

I have an old football injury and I am waiting for a knee surgery. After realizing the wait was going to be longer than expected I decided to replace my medical can with something nicer. This cane took about 2 weeks to arrive (but it did have to cross the Canadian border) but it was amazing. I asked for something big and the cane is big and strong yet amazing light. I was more than happy with my purchase.

Beautiful. Seems Strong

I know that each of these be a bit different, but I got very lucky with mine. The root that forms the handle on it curves in a way that gives me a perfect ergonomic grip. Just a happy accident. It's a beautiful stick, using a piece of wood that is quite close to straight, and crafted using the natural beauty of the piece they selected. The one jarring note is entirely my fault; I had my initials engraved, but on actually seeing it, I think it would be prettier without them. The standard sizes they offer would be too long for me, but Brazos trimmed this to 34.5 inches on my request. You just have to put it in the comments section or give them a call. It's lightweight, my shortened one is 13 3/8 oz. but it seems very strong. Certainly it's strong enough for any support I need during normal use. I don't really want to find out if it will work for self defense, but I think it might.

Where Life Begins

I had found my first Natural Hardwood Root Cane in a local hardware store and was intrigued by it. I purchased the cane for my mother's birthday and she loved it. After recovering recently from back surgery, I ordered a second cane on line for myself. I was concerned it wouldn't be as beautiful as the one I got earlier but it was. Although unique, I am extremely satisfied with this root cane. It fits my large hands perfectly and I cut it down to a perfect length. There's an a natural power and beauty inherent in the root of a tree. Brazos created a functional work of art, right from nature. Please tell me the name of the tree my cane was made from. Thank you!

Perfect

It arrived in three days, fortunately on a day that's ideal for a walk. The fit is perfect, the cane light and it fits the hand. This is a perfect cane for walking a dog across rough Texas ranchland -- if not totally necessary, certainly comforting for this 77-year-old. So off I went, happy as a clam, walking across winter-gold pasture in west central Texas with my Waco walking stick and my Waco rescue dog (from Fuzzy Friends -- another astounding provider of happiness, also in Waco!).

Unique and beautiful

I am so happy with this cane! After breaking my hip this winter, I was recently given the go ahead to move to a cane and so many canes out there were either boring or way too expensive. This cane is unique, interesting and beautiful and the price is reasonable as well. And the free shipping was a nice bonus! I've been using the cane now for a week and it is perfectly functional as well, I find the handle quite comfortable and it is plenty strong. Highly recommend this cane!

Great stick...prompt shipping!

I had some special requests, and I was very pleased with the walking stick I received. It's more for potential defense against bad 2 and 4 legged animals, and I think it's about perfect for the job. Light weight, comfy in the hand, and as tough as a tree root, which of course it is!! It's now a constant companion for me and my shorkie when we are out and about!! Thanks Brazos!
