Book Synopsis
When three families are viciously massacred in the forest of the Pacific Northwest, and three young girls disappear, Dr. Ken Turner and his colleagues suspect the hybrid creatures they discovered in the jungles of Africa who were kidnapped by shady government agents. They find themselves back in pursuit of the half-human, half-chimpanzee creatures, and their missing colleague Dr. Melon. Their quest begins, at risk to their careers and reputations, in the little town of Willow Creek and the surrounding Trinity Forest where the mythical bigfoot is said to roam. Who or what will they find?
Review Quotes
"Beyond Human is an outstanding thriller, with a plot and characters so compelling, you'll lose yourself in the taut, suspenseful story of the horror man and beast can create. The twist at the end will leave you gasping."

"In his latest epic, Beyond Human, author Ken Decroo introduces us to a riveting tale of government shenanigans and man's struggle to better understand his closest relative in the animal kingdom. Decroo-thanks to his years of expertise as an animal trainer for the movie industry-provides piercing insights into the behaviors and thought processes of the great apes as well as our fellow human beings, with sometimes unsettling results. And then ... what about Bigfoot? If you enjoyed Clan of the Cave Bear you'll love Beyond Human."
- John Russell, author of Riding with Ghosts, Angels and the Spirits of the Dead and A Knock in the Attic.
"Another page turner! They thought life had returned to normal, but little did Dr Turner and his crew know, Vandusen and his gang were up to their evil and sinister ways. Vandusen is motivated by fame and fortune, but this time his evil is driven by revenge against Turner. What fate awaits the chimps Danny, Oliver and Girlie? Are the creatures truly monsters or is their behaviour justified? This story has a twist you won't see coming!"
- Joanne Larsen, BS natural science and education director at a zoo.
"Once again, Kenneth L. Decroo has kept me on the edge of my seat and left me wanting more. Beyond Human finds Drs. Ken Turner and Fred Savage at a crossroads. Chimp hybrids are roaming Africa and, most likely, somewhere in North America. The DOD is building a remote experimental station, and a group of campers are found brutally murdered. Filled with plot twists and the cross-continent connection of mystery and subterfuge the group of scientists and their guides need to find answers. The conflicts that arise are met by rugged determination of these men to protect humans, the creatures, and the secrets from the jungle. Another thriller by a masterful storyteller."
- Jamie S. Morris, English teacher.
"Wow, what a capstone to this amazing, thrilling trilogy. Well worth the wait, Beyond Human continues the excitement, intrigue and solid biomedical foundation, finally intertwining it with American folklore. I couldn't put it down."
- Tom Bachman, Research Faculty, School of Biomedical Engineering, Czech Technical University, Prague.
"In an international tale of suspense, Ken Decroo takes us from the Pacific Northwest to the jungles of the Congo in search of answers to a gruesome and mysterious event that seems to point to an even more formidable and dangerous threat. Decroo drops a breadcrumb trail of clues for the reader, as he weaves together the insights of a well-drawn cast of intriguing and relatable characters. Interweaving real-world events and his own experience in wild animal training and research, Decroo delivers a compelling story, as he leaves us to parse fact from fiction and guess at what we think we know about our nearest cousins."
- Andrew Cockrum, Documentary Producer/Danger Dog Films.
