Missing the old formula
I’m disappointed this formula has changed, the scent is too strong and I agree that it is more drying than the original. I’d ordered the original countless times and will sorely miss it. Won’t be reordering this again.

not good for sensitive skin
Unfortunately this product stings on sensitive skin and over time is making my skin peel and my neck break out in a rash. My skin can tolerate retinol so I'm not sure what I'm this product is making things go nuts. Sad that hydra-10 isn't available in the US -it's perfect.

Who asked for this reformulation?! I’ll be returning this ASAP, the fragrance is so overwhelming I thought I was sold a counterfeit product. I will not use the “new” Aqua Gel. Avène, shame on you. Another holy grail product gone. Stop messing with good things.

My favorite moisturizer!
I have been using this for over a year and it is by far my favorite moisturizer. Lots of people mention the change in formula, but I haven't noticed a change in quality and what it does for my skin. My skin is super dry, so I use every morning and also on the nights I'm not using an intense moisture mask. It's the best. I just wish they made a bigger size - I go through it pretty quickly!

Too strong perfume smell and stings
I have used many Avene prducts and love them however this creme stings and smells like perfume. I had to wash it off. From what I have read they changed their formula. I will have to return it.

The old formula was better for sensitive skin, it was fragrance-free and very gentle....the new formula has a strong fragrance and the texture is more sticky, and not as gentle for sensitive skin.

Hydrates and leaves skin feeling fresh
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have dry but sensitive skin and find it hard to find moisturisers that work without clogging my pores. This one is super moisturising, gel formula and a little bit goes a long way. Haven’t had any issues with blocked pores since using it, great quality and my skin is happy. I’d say it’s good value for money seeing as you don’t need much of it and it’ll last a good while. It has a pleasant scent to it that leaves you feel fresh. I find the packaging simple but leaves you knowing what your getting.

TOTALLY DIFFERENT PRODUCT THAN IT USED TO BE. This has been my favorite facial product for over 5 years- it was silky and felt so good. I am SO SAD they decided to “improve” the formula! Why add a fragrance? It was perfect and mild before and now it smells chemically to me. But the worst thing is that it stung my face when I put it on! It used to be the best product for my sensitive skin, but it is no longer sensitive skin friendly. And worst of all the texture is all wrong- it’s sticky, not silky and light. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMULA!!! I had to cancel my subscription until then:(

Super product for hydration
As someone with “mature” skin, I struggle with dryness. This product leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed. I use it in the evening with an Avene serum in the AM. It does have a slight fragrance but I don’t mind that for evening.

Allergic Reaction!!
The very strong fragrance gave me an itchy allergic reaction, which has never happened to me before. Otherwise a nice product so it’s a shame that they couldn’t formulate it without the fragrance.
