Frequently Asked Questions

What about 2025 Overtime Premium? If you were issued overtime in 2025, Target emailed your 2025 overtime premium estimate, the portion of overtime pay that you may be able to deduct on your 2025 tax return. The "2025 qualified overtime compensation included in Form W-2, box 1” amount provided in the email is an estimate and is not tax advice.

  • Additional resources: IRS Form 1040 (Schedule A) is used to calculate and claim the deduction. IRS Notice 2025-69 provides guidance and examples on determining qualified overtime deductions for 2025.
  • Please consult a tax advisor for any questions about your individual tax situation.

I don’t know my team member number, where can I find it? Your team member number can be found at the top of your pay stub.

How do I know if I am receiving a paper or electronic W-2? Log in to Paperless Employee > Account Settings > Manage Contact & Electronic Statement Options.

I never got my W-2 / I lost my W-2 / my Address was wrong; how do I get a new one? Follow the steps above to order a replacement copy.

Why are my W-2 amounts different than my year-end pay statement? Your year-end pay statement should not be used to confirm annual taxable income. IRS Form W-2 reflects taxable income after pre-tax deductions, such as retirement contributions or certain benefits like tuition reimbursement.

Who can I contact for help?

  • For questions about how to file your taxes or how amounts are calculated on your tax return, contact a qualified tax advisor or the Internal Revenue Service at IRS.gov or 1-800-829-1040.
  • For help accessing your W-2 on Paperless Employee, contact Target’s HR Operations Center at 1-800-394-1885.
