12" diamond honing steel

bought this steel to maintain my Zwilling Pro & Pro S series knives...have not had any reason yet to use...but I have had a henckels diamond steel that lasted me 30+ yrs...I'm sure this will pass on longer than me...👍😎

Worked well but not durable - Not Recommended!

Had this awhile. Worked well but in occasional household use the diamond coating has started to peel off revealing plain steel underneath. The poor design, materials, cost optimization or manufacturing process make this product unsuitable for market Certainly not up to brand standards or reputation. Stay away from this one, not recommended. Will not let me upload pictures.

Great knives need great honing steel

Amazing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This knife sharpener is miles above a standard steel, it’s not a challenge to sharpen a knife, and it takes a fraction of the work. I love it so much I bought one as a gift.

This honing steel is perfect for maintaining blade edge. It is differs from other honing steels because it also helps sharpen as you hone because of the diamond particles infused in the steel. Nice 12" length, easily accommodates longer knife blades, and can be used for both my German and Japanese knives.

This diamond honing steel makes all the difference in the world. The diamond is so hard that it slightly sharpens as you hone. The flat design also helps achieve perfect edge maintenance by giving a greater surface area to work with. I also prefer having the 10" length for that reason as well. Very pleased with how this honing steel performs.

Helps maintain the edge

Love the 12" honing steel. The longer length gives more surface area to work with, especially with some of my longer length blades. Very comfortable handle, and easy to use. This steel is a bit harder than the steel I previously used because of the diamond coating, therefore the steel not only hones the blade but some light sharpening is also achieved as well.

Must have tool

Recently introduced to honing by a long time friend who is a professional chef. I was always complaining about my knives dulling and I learned that honing is the key to edge retention. The honing realigns the edge so that it no longer rolls over on itself which causes the dulling. The Diamond Sharpening Steel not only realigns the edge, but because of the Diamond Steel, some sharpening also occurs. This sharpening steel makes a huge difference, and I use it every time I work in the kitchen.

I use this steel in concert with my regular stone sharpening. It is easy to use and the handle is comfortable to hold. It really keeps my knives at their best edge.
