A: Thank you for your inquiry. The stainless steel in the interior of the food jar contains nickel. Nickel is an important alloying element in food-grade stainless steel. It provides high anti-corrosive properties to the stainless steel (even surgical steel contains nickel). The sticker on the bottom of the outside of the food jar contains DBP. Please note that the bottom of the food jar does not come in to direct contact with food or beverage. Q: Why does the lid of the food container open?

A: Thank you for your inquiry. Please ensure the stopper gasket has been installed properly on the lid set - if the gasket is installed incorrectly, the lid may not fit on to the unit properly. Please also ensure you are leaving about 1/2 inch space from the ridges of the food jar when filling so the food does not block the lid set when closed. If damage does occur to the metal on the ridge of the food jar, this may also affect how the unit closes. They arrived promptly and in perfect condition. So glad to see Zojirushi collaborating with Sanrio. I hope to see more items in the future.
