Does not heat up quickly when adding new ingredients. You must close the lid. I would not recommend.

I bought this hoping to never have to buy gas cartridges again for my gas burner. I was also hoping for a constant heat source that does not fade like the portable gas burners as well. Well, this is not it. At only 1300 watts, this unit does not provide enough power to keep the water boiling. Everytime you add just a little bit of food to pot, the water stops boiling and you have to put the lid back on. If you have a hungry and impatient family like mine, they will get very hangry waiting for the water to boil every 5 minutes. You will be much better off getting an electric cooker with at least 1800 watts. That's what we ended up buying and we could not be happier. Water kept boiling no matter what we threw in there.

I've had positive experiences with various Zojirushi products in the past, appreciating their consistent high quality. However, the Yin Yang Hot Pot skillet I recently received has been quite disappointing. Despite the lengthy process it took to acquire this skillet, I'd like to focus on the specific issue at hand. The main concern lies in the rough texture of the skillet's coating, which feels noticeably uneven when touched by hand. Moreover, there are defects in the coating that give the impression the skillet has been used previously. While this alone is not the primary issue, the presence of hollow rings on the coating is particularly concerning. Even if the pot had been used before, it should not exhibit such abnormalities in the coating. In comparison, I have a similar skillet from another brand that is a decade old, yet it still maintains its original, smooth appearance. This leads me to believe that the coating on the Zojirushi Yin Yang Hot Pot is not of the same quality. Upon visual inspection, other parts of the skillet appear to be of good quality, and the coating on the frying pan resembles that of the rice pot I have now—smooth, shiny, and seemingly high-quality. My overall experience, from the shipment process to the return process, has been frustrating due to the issues encountered with this product.

Easy to use and easy to clean up

It heats hotpot soup evenly and you can change the interior to be a kbbq plate for grilling. Overall I hope this lasts for 10 years like my rice cooker! I can’t wait to use this more often in the winter.

Can't go wrong this Zojirushi brand! Love it and we had a great time using this for hot pot. One side for spicy and the other side for non spicy food - perfect!
