XTERRA Fitness EU150 Hybrid Elliptical/Upright Bike

I had this exact elliptical for 4 years as a gift from my employer. It was always noisy making squeaking sounds etc and was not the most stable. It did the job though and I liked the battery operated display panel as opposed to something that had to be plugged in. I use my elliptical 4 times a week for an hour at a time and as mentioned above was not the most stable but finally the metal tube actually broke. Given I am used to and comfortable with the machine and with the low price fiqured if I got 4 years out of new one then it would be worth it. Target is great to work with! I have nothing negative to say about Target- I ordered this as a replacment and received it fairly quickly which was great, Target kept me informed of shipping. Elliptical arrived and I started to put this together and since I had put one put together in the past was familiar with the process. The issue came when I went to screw the bolt in on the left leg to the silver leg in the rear. The right side screwed in with no issues. The left side however was not machined properly as no matter how much I screwed and tried to work on it, it just wasn't made correctly. I almost had the whole elliptical put together but this step so needless to say I was not happy! I spent 3 hours of my time messing with this only to discover it had a manufacturing flaw. So I took all back apart and put it in the box the best I could and took it back to Target to return. I am highly dissappointed as it was just one bolt and hole not machined properly that caused me a huge aggravation. Target made the return process super easy and again this has nothing to do with Target, Xterra has a quality control issue

I wanted to like this. I really did, but I couldn't because it caused me pain. Let me back up. Hi, I'm 5 foot, 4 1/2 inches, and I'm over 230 lbs. This is important as I'm trying to lose weight to help my sleep apnea and my knees. I purchased this as I would be under the weight requirement, and it was an elliptical with a bonus indoor bike. It comes in the mail, and it took 3 days to figure out where everything went as the instructions confused me. (If you're telling me to work on the right part but showing me the left part, it will take me a bit to figure that out.) I finally finish it, and the first thing I notice is that the elliptical is too hard on my knees. I'm trying to use it, and because I'm too tall for this machine, my knees as they use the pedals are acting wonky. So now I'm using a $200 elliptical as just a bike. It works as an indoor bike, but I could have bought a cheaper indoor bike then this. You have to be under 5 feet to get use out of it.

Machine seems to work great and nice compact design. But…it is only good for people under 5’ tall due to the 13” stride length. I am much taller than that and my knees hurt very bad after using this machine. Will be returning for something with 20” stride.
