Description
The Worx Nitro 40V Power Share 16” Cordless Chain Saw with Brushless Motor was developed to provide greater performance without all the drawbacks of using a gas-powered tool. 40V of power and a high-efficiency brushless motor combine to spin the high-speed 16” chain at up to 65 ft./s., but at a fraction of the cost of operating a gas-powered chain saw over its lifetime. Battery powered chain saws are less expensive to power and maintain, and are cleaner than gas-powered tools. They’re designed for professional use or for advanced DIY-ers. With the Nitro 40V Chain Saw you can cut up to 30” diameter logs that are on the ground or 15” diameter trees and limbs that are still standing. The one-touch tool-less tension system prevents the chain from overtightening and the automatic chain lubrication feature ensures you’ll always have a well-oiled chain which increases the life of both the bar and the chain. The chain pitch is 3/8 in. and this battery powered chain saw weighs only 15.3 lbs. with the batteries installed and 12.4 lbs. bare. (That’s light for a chain saw when compared to older, traditional models.) It’s perfect for residential home flippers or property owners that need to clear land or chop up fallen tree limbs after a storm. It’s great for disaster clean-up crews, or forestry, nature preserve, and wildlife staff.

Worx 40V 16” cordless chainsaw
Does the brushless motor ever need to be cleaned? What is the maintenance for this chainsaw beside oil refills and blade replacements?

Works every time!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my chainsaw. My old gas chainsaw was so unreliable. I never knew if it was going to start when I wanted to use it. This 40v gets the job done every time. I was surprised at the ease of starting. So portable, no gas needed, sturdy and cuts limbs with ease. This 70 yr old woman loves it.

I Can Use It!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had neck and back surgeries and can’t start gas powered yard equipment. This chainsaw, not only can I start it with ease, but I can actually USE it!!! I have cut down several medium sized trees!! It has a little weight to it but it isn’t backbreaking heavy. The only troubling thing is the chain drops off quite a bit but I’ve gotten really good at putting it back on. Thank you WORX for making equipment that I can actually use!!!

work horse
This chain saw works and works. Cut down and finished off trees in short order that had been damaged in storm. Ran a long time on a charge so we could get lots done. My son said it was better than the bigger gas-powered saw we have. Charging was alos fast and easy.

The saw works great, but the chain will stretch and there isn't enough bar to tighten the chain. when this happens (and it will) the saw is useless because when anyone tries to use the saw the chain will jump off the bar. most of your work time will be spent putting the chain back on the bar only to have the same thing happen again.

Hello Valued Customer! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and review. We're glad to hear that you've been enjoying the saw. The chain will stretch while cutting and lose proper tension. When the chain becomes loose, completely unscrew the chain tensioning knob or turn the knob around three (3) full turns in a counter-clockwise direction, then retighten the chain tensioning knob to properly reset the chain tension. Please be aware that new chains will stretch as well, and we highly recommend checking the tension frequently when first used and tighten when the chain becomes loose around the guide bar. Thank you for choosing WORX tools!

Great chainsaws
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am clearing a farm with 30 year growth. Between the Nitro 16" chainsaw and the 10" pole saw, it is going well. Batteries last hours. The pole saw is wonderful. I am sure it is for limbs on trees, but using it on over growth hedges, thorns and brush. That way you are not being poked, thorns and ticks. Once they are down, throw on the fire piles. Then use the nitro to clear the stumps. Then the brush cutter clears the rest. And finally, the tractor with bush hogs can keep it cleared moving forward.

Ditch the Gas-powered Chain Saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having used gas powered chain saws for over 40 years now, I was a little skeptical that a battery powered chain saw could keep up with my old one but, I was totally wrong. This WORX Nitro 40V chainsaw is unbelievable, simple to use, cuts like crazy and battery life that last for any job I have needed it for so far. I was so used to mixing gas, priming the motor, pulling, and pulling the starting cord to get it started, struggling to keep it going, what I didn’t really realize was how much of a hassle that really was. The WORX, you just touch the trigger, and you start cutting, plain and simple. The weight of the WORX Nitro saw is a little lighter them my gas-powered chain saw. The design and weight distribution makes it very comfortable to handle while cutting or just carrying around. In addition, the simple, no tools needed. chain tension system works great and eliminates the need to carry around a screwdriver. As for battery life, I get 30-50 cuts depending on the tree size, typically 3-15 inch diameter thick, and hardness of the wood. I do still find myself with my finger on the trigger even though I’m not cutting, a habit I need to break from the old gas-powered days. I’m sure I could get a couple of more cuts if I can break that habit. As for maintenance, oil and sharpen the chain, no need for spark plugs and having to mix gas. The bottom line is this chain saw is equal to any 16” gas-powered chain saw I have owned in power and cutting capability, without all the hassle and, it always ready to cut in a seconds notice, just pull the trigger.
