Junk
I maybe got 10 cuts on some smaller birch trees. Batteries done last at all. Not at all what is advertised. I want a refund!

Chains don't stay on.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to help cut trees after Hurricane Helene came through my area. I have used gas powered chainsaws many years and wanted something more lightweight. It worked great until the chain came off the first time. I put the chain back on but in a few more cuts, the chain came off again. I purchased the recommened Oregon brand and tried that. It worked well for a few more cuts, came off and the process was repeated. I've been through 4 chains becuase if the saw throws them, you might as well throw that chain away. So now this chainsaw is less than a year old and sitting on a shelf while I use my gas powered one.

Hello Katsma. Thank you for sharing your experience. New chains tend to stretch, so we recommend checking the chain tension often and adjusting as needed. The chain is properly tensioned when there is no sag on the underside of the guide bar, and it feels snug but can still be rotated by hand without binding. Keep in mind that a chain adjusted while warm may become too tight as it cools. For best results, always check and set the “cold tension” before your next use. We have a video that helps explain how to tension the chain. You can check it out here: (https://youtu.be/WJOGDpSPzJM?t=84). After attempting the troubleshooting tip and, the problem persists. We recommend contacting our customer support team for assistance with properly submitting a warranty claim. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, accessible by clicking “Chat with an Expert” in the bottom corner of your screen, Chat with a Live Agent I Monday - Friday: 9:30AM – 5PM EST or by calling 1-888-909-6757 between 9AM and 7PM EST, M-F. Saturday: 9AM to 5PM EST. Sunday: 9AM to 5PM EST. So, our experts can discuss your experience; please have your unit, battery and charger with you along with the model and serial number to complete troubleshooting to ensure quick resolution is provided. *Hours are subject to change.

Good but
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bough this first week of December and have used it just once. I have two gas saws so I’m used to cutting a lot of wood before refueling. The chain dulled after just one pine tree. The battery works fine but barely made it through the same one pine tree. The largest part of the tree was o my about 10” in diameter.

Hello Doug1986. Thank you for sharing your experience. A chainsaw chain can dull quickly if it comes into contact with dirt, rocks, or other hard substances like nails, usually because of cutting too close to the ground, cutting dirty wood, or hitting debris embedded in the tree, essentially grinding down the cutting teeth on the chain; improper sharpening technique can also contribute to rapid dulling. What to do: Always keep the chain sharp: Regularly check your chain for sharpness and sharpen it when needed. Avoid cutting close to the ground: Lift logs off the ground before cutting to minimize contact with dirt. Clean the chain regularly: Remove debris from the chain after each use. Use the right chain for the job: Choose a chain designed for the type of wood you're cutting. Check chain tension: Ensure the chain is properly tensioned. Inspect for damage: Look for any bent or broken teeth on the chain. Hope this information helpful. If you require any additional support or have questions regarding a product, we recommend try our Q&A section on product's page or Chat with us direct on our website www.greenworkstools.com

Sharp but problems
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this a little over a month ago. Very sharp chain. Threw the chain within about 8 cuts. The chain was bent and ruined. Bought a new chain and working great again. But now the charger will only charge batteries about 2/3 of the way.

Hello blhoit. We are sorry to hear of your experience. This is a diagnostic charger. The Charger LED Lights will illuminate in specific order to communicate. the current battery status. They are as follows: Blinking Green > Charging. Solid Green > Fully Charged. Solid Red Over > Temperature. Blinking Red > Charging Fault. To charge the battery, first place battery on charger and make sure you connect the battery to the charger, you will hear an audible click or snap sound. Second, once the battery is secure, a green flashing light will indicate that the battery is charging. A solid green light indicates that the battery is fully charged. We would suggest, removing the battery pack and unplug the charger. Wait 1 minute and plug the charger back in and reinsert the battery pack. If this does not yield results, our team would be happy to investigate your warranty options. Please consider contacting us at 1-888-909-6757 or by starting a live chat (www.greenworkstools.com) for further assistance. All we ask that you please have access to the charger, battery, and tool for troubleshooting purposes.

My partner's favorite!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought a set of tools when we moved into out house about a year ago. the set did not come with a chainsaw and my partner really wanted one. I found the 16" 48V and it matched our set. My partner is so happy with the chainsaw, now he is actively looking for thigs to cut down!. It works with the other Greenworks tools we have, and it's perfect for our yard, the trees, and shrubbery we need to control with a chainsaw.
