[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this as an option thru our Home Warranty contract about a month ago as our old microwave was not repairable. Happy with how it works with only one drawback.....the light is positioned toward the back of the unit making it a bit dark while cooking on the two front burners. Our old microwave lit up all four burners equally. But other than the lighting issue we're pleased with it and how quickly it heats food up!

Bad feature....overhead stove light..can't see....
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this microwave about 2 weeks ago...it works fine.....but the light over the stove is horrible...it is in the back and you can't see what your cooking on the front burner of the stove. I tried to get the charcoal filter out to see what size it was...cut my finger pretty bad on the sharp metal...and never did get the piece out...suppose to slide to the left..but it hits the microwave door and won't slide far enough....I loved my old 20 yr old Whirlpool but this one sure has design issues.

Great product

When the old microwave quit working we went out and found a new Whirlpool microwave that matches our kitchen appliances. I was really happy with the construction and quality of the new microwave. The metal lower part to resist heat from the stove was a very important feature.

Good replacement

poor design to get to charcoal filter
I just got this new microwave. I can't rate the performance yet, but I tried to see what size charcoal filter I needed. I followed the directions...remove 2 screws..the panel wouldn't move..so I proceeded to remove all the screws on the top..the panel would shift left just a tiny bit..but hit the microwave door...I couldn't get the panel out to remove the charcoal filter...sharp metal...cut my finger bad...poor design for sure.

Poor exhaust fan
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own this microwave for two weeks now and I am not happy with the exhaust fan. When my wife is cooking it doesn't draw the steam and cooking odors out of the kitchen. We are seeing signs of water droplets on windows and kitchen cabinets where we never did before. This was a replacement of our old microwave which had broken. We did not have this problem with the old one.

If your Microwave venting often fails to remove cooking odors, steam, and vapor effectively please see the tips below for troubleshooting. Solutions & Troubleshooting: Address poor vent performance by checking filters and verifying the vent setup. 1. Filter Maintenance: Safety: Unplug the unit and ensure it's cool before servicing. Follow cleaning product instructions. Grease Filters: Metal mesh filters on the underside. Clean monthly (or when indicated) in the dishwasher or by hand with hot, soapy water. Charcoal (Odor) Filters: Only used for internal (recirculating) venting. They absorb odors. Cannot be cleaned; must be replaced every six months (or when indicated). 2. Performance Diagnostic: Test: Remove all filters, turn on the fan, and check airflow/odor removal. Scenario A (No improvement): Problem is likely external ductwork (if vented outside). Action: Contact a professional to clean the ducting and check the exterior wall cap/damper. Scenario B (Improvement): Filters are clogged. Action: Replace filters immediately. Do not run the microwave without filters due to fire hazard. 3. Venting Configuration Check: Determine Type: Turn the fan high. External: Little-to-no airflow felt at the top front of the microwave. Internal/Recirculating: Strong airflow felt expelled from the top front (requires charcoal filter). External Components (If applicable): Check the exterior wall/roof cap. Ensure the damper flap opens fully and the screen is clear of debris. Not designed by a woman.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was not tested over time by a woman. After less than a month, the screen is wearing off because of woman's nails touching the screen. It is a poor design. I'm sure I'll have to replace it within 6-12 months. Terrible design.
