I was worried the opening would be too large but it is perfect. I hate the paper straws and was guarding my small black plastic straws and now I don't have to.

Sheds metal coating

Tried to clean these straws with my straw cleaning brush and they were shedding the gunmetal finish from the inside. I ended up not using them because I’m not sure that they are safe to use
