Van Zyverden Allium Purple Giganteum Flower Bulb

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are in the ground now and I'm awaiting them to fully come up. I can see the first evidence that they are on the way. Luckily we are entering what is now growing season in our part of the US (SW FL). They were easy to plant and they looked great upon arrival. They will go great with our existing plants and flowers and it will be nice to have some more color in our landscaping.

I planted in my flower bed per instructions and I can't wait until it blooms. I will update my review once it blooms. It was packaged well and is a good value. I would recommend to others.

In our homeschool lessons we were learning about bulbs, how they multiply, how you plant them and about layers and how to properly care for them. I loved the zone guidance and planting recommendations and definitely need them as a beginning gardener! So excited to see this come forth in the spring

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have recently redone my front garden and wanted something unique to plant in there. This fits my expectations! I will have to wait and see what happens when it grows but once it does, it will be an amazing addition to my hand picked plants. I am looking at other varieties to create colorful ‘ornaments’. My one hope is that the deer doesn’t like it. They should not based on the family of plants but that’s something I will go test with time. I will update or write more once this gets established in my garden. For now, if you are looking for something new, go and experiment:)

I bought them this fall when I found them online and I literally cannot wait to plant them. They’re gonna be so pretty I like the design of the plant if you know what I mean I know it sounds weird but I can’t wait to see these.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live in zone 8 and I'm excited to see the how well this does in our garden. The bulb arrived by mail, well packaged and in great condition. The directions are simple stating to plant in the Fall, in sun to partial shade and 5-6 inches deep. In addition to the absolutely stunning flowers, unique shape and gorgeous color, I was drawn to this Allium as it is deer resistant which we need as we have tons of deer in our neighborhood. I absolutely can't wait to see the growth!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were excited to receive the bulb for these flowers. We had a spot in our garden bed picked out. The bulb arrived in careful packaging and seemed fresh. There was very little instruction on how to plant it, what environment it would grow best in, or how to care for it though. We planted it among other flowering plants, and we’ve watered it every other day, but we haven’t seen any change or evidence of a seedling, and it’s been almost 2 weeks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: easy instructions, easy to care for and maintain Cons: my bulb arrived with some rot The Allium Giganteum Bulb from VanZyverden’s arrived packaged extremely nicely with beautifully detailed instructions. The instructions on how to plant and care for this bulb are very straightforward and easy to understand. This bulb needs to be planted in full sun to part shade, it gets 34-36” tall, it needs 9-12” of spacing, and to be planted 5-6” deep. This bulb did not really arrive in the best shape though. It has a lot of rot and mold on nearly half of the bulb but I decided to plant it anyway because it still may grow. I chose a sunny location, dug down about 6”, then placed the bulb in the hole, and then buried it. It was very easy to plant and I’m hoping it’s going to grow instead of just rot. I really like that there is minimal maintenance with this bulb. I really hope it comes up. All in all, I am definitely concerned with the state of the bulb but still hoping that it grows, otherwise the instructions were super clear, and it was very easy to plant. Looking forward to seeing it grow.
