Q: What is the the actual thickness of this mat when laid out? Couple places say 25.4cm (~1inch) and other places says 4inchs thick which doesn't seem likely.

Best mat!
Seriously the best mat I’ve ever owned. Folding mats like this I’ve seen cost double the price so I figured I’d try this one first and so glad I did. You can fold it in different ways if you need it doubled at end or in middle for knees too. Padding is good thickness, easy to use, fold and store. Mat is flat like other review mentioned, unlike rolled mats that curve and don’t lie flat on ends easily.
