About the Author

Dr. Donald R. Whitaker was born on August 31, 1953, in Shreveport, Louisiana, the eighth child of twelve of Robert and Dorothy Whitaker. He is married to Deloris (née Barton), the father of five and grandfather of nine.

Dr. Whitaker attended Second Ward High School in DeSoto Parish and graduated from Southern University in New Orleans where he received a B.S. in Accounting. He earned a Masters in Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry from Greenwood Acres Christian College and School of Ministry. He attended Grambling and Centenary universities, working on his Master's in Education. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Marines and the Army. He was recently employed as the energy manager of Caddo Parish Schools where he helped to save the school district approximately 1.5 million dollars each year. He initiated forms and procedures that are used across the nation in energy management.

Dr. Whitaker is the president/CEO/founder of Agape-Faith Ministries, Inc. and pastor/teacher as well as the founder of Agape-Faith Christian Fellowship. He is also the president/CEO/founder of Northwest Louisiana International Community Development Association, Inc. Dr. Whitaker serves as a professor at Greenwood Acres Christian College and School of Ministry. He is the original author of the catalog for the school and selects many of the books used in the seminary.

Dr. Whitaker is the author of several books including: Witnessing: Making Disciples, Living Holy in A Wicked World, Success: It's in Your Hands, Is Jesus Lord? Let Your Light Shine, and Reaching the Masses. His hobbies include biblical research and studies, racquetball, landscaping, reading and playing computer freecell and hearts.
