Simple First Book for Babies
The book is very cute, but extremely simple. When it says, “Prayers for Babies” on the cover they literally mean babies. My son is 27 months old, and this was a new book for him so he was interested in the flaps more than anything. I would say I’m not going to get much use out of this book; however, with a 1 month old, I’m hoping it can be one of her first books. I believe my son might even learn to read it easily enough that he can read it to his sister when they’re both a bit older. I would suggest taking your child’s age and learning stage into consideration before buying this book. It is great for new readers, but might be too short and or simple for more advanced readers.

This is an adorable little book. I cannot give it a 5-star rating as a book for a small child, however, because the pictures in most cases do not correlate well with the words on the corresponding pages. As you read a book to a child you want to be pointing to the pictures as you read the words but in this book, the words do not match the picture on the page. If that is not important to you for teaching word association, then you may like this book . I found that to be a frustrating defect in what is otherwise a sweet little book.

Illustrations couldve been better
I got this online so I was unable to see through the book. It’s cute but I wish the illustration matched the story/words better, showing what it is to be thankful for although it does show for some. For instance on one of the pages it says thanks for bright blue sky & sea, then the picture is a giraffe and a fish in a bowl. It should’ve shown a picture of the sky & ocean. I definitely feel this book could’ve been a lot better with the illustrations.
