Description
Book Synopsis
Our pursuit in life is for the peak state of "happiness." No peak can be sustained without a heroic encounter with the pit valleys of our lifespan. Heroism helps us "fight the good fight" of Paul against evil and death with courage, humility, faith, and honest realism as we are drawn to the peaks of goodness with empowered love. Our sunrise of birth begins with our moms "fighting the good fight" to endure birth pains and powerlessness. Our sunset of rebirth comes from the defeat of sin and death through God's own sacrifice. The burst of crimson skies reminds us that we are born through a mom's blood for birth and the Messiah's blood for rebirth into the glory of everlasting life. The darkness of our unknown valley is between sunset and sunrise. Here we reflect on the realities of birth and rebirth that every resilience in our lifespan foreshadows with reverent celebration.
Review Quotes
Incredible book that bridges through a look at major religions following Joseph Campbells Heroes Journey... Though it does have a Christian lens, and the author at least has a deep connection and respect for Jesus, I found this book to be inspiring, thought provoking and a wonderful read.
-Chris Carlson
David Kuby has written an extraordinary synopsis of past and present psychology that paves the way to healthy families and faith. His book is practical and spiritual in the most personal of ways.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading 'Heroism in the Pursuit of Happiness'. I found the history of the Kuby family fascinating how they managed to navigate through their young lives.
They were not only survivors, but they flourished in their adult lives despite their difficult beginnings. Very thought provoking and inspiring.
