Bookshop Rivalry
This was a cute story, with a Romeo and Juliet feel to it. Two families with a long time feud, with names that are even kind of similar. The Capelthorne’s and the Montbeau’s have had a rivalry for hundreds of years, so a romance between Jules and Roman has always been off the table in their minds. So much like Romeo and Juliet. With this book I liked how much Jules and Great Aunt Flo care and love each other. The way they supported each other was heartfelt and just made your heart feel good. Even though there is longstanding feud between the families, Aunt Flo didn’t have issues with Jules growing relationship with Roman and just openly supported her. I liked the character of Charlie and the quirkiness he brought to the storyline. Flo and Jules and took him in and made him part of the family. That was heartwarming and made it seem hopeful for their bookshop. Overall, I enjoyed the book, although for me the romance between Jules and Roman could have used a little more spice to it. Although in all reality, it’s probably a more realistic romance where there isn’t all the steam and spice.
