Creativite, but needs to be sewn for a dress

I like it allows creativity. My daughter is 7 (almost 8). In order do you to create a dress, it seems you have to sew it together. A plastic needle and fine thread come with this kit, and my daughter cannot sew nor will the plastic needle be able to sew the material provided. So, we will have to sew the dresses in order for them to be a completed dress. I was hoping she would be able to do this from step A to Z on her own, but not with the sewing aspect. I would only buy this on sale (which I do). Especially because it wasn’t fully what I thought. Good quality. Provides a good selection of styles for the dresses.

Tricky for me to figure out

Too hard for mom to help 4 year old- lol. Lots of fabrics and fun things to glue but the actual “dress making” effect that I thought would be more effortless I couldn’t get - it was easier for me to hand sew a tube dress

Empowers kids to make their own designs.

I bought this for my niece (10), and she loved it. So did I! We used a marker to trace the dress pattern onto the material. We used a cake board underneath to keep the marker from marking up the table. You'll need scissors that will cut the material, and although it came with two sided tape, I found that some glue dots that I had on hand worked better. The backing on the included tape was difficult to remove. This set had lots of beautiful materials, bows, and ribbons to choose from. No real sewing was required, but if you wanted to teach a simple straight stitch, this would be a great place to start. What a wonderful set to use to teach basic sewing techniques and design concepts! However, that doesn't have to be the focus at all. Kids and adults will enjoy playing with this set.

Such a fun and creative kit

My daughter absolutely loves this doll dress-making kit! She's obsessed with all the different fabrics and loves creating new outfits for her dolls. I guess it's time for me to learn how to sew so she can keep making even more. Such a great way to spark creativity and keep her busy!

Fun for a short while

My daughter and niece, ages 9 and 10, had fun playing with this. It kept them occupied for several hours each day during a recent week long vacation. It served its purpose by keeping them off devices and playing and collaborating together!

Very Impressive Kit

My 9 year old granddaughter loves this birthday gift. She is very good at crafts, but still needs some assistance. Very impressive assortment of fabrics. Her creations and sewing abilities have greatly proved. Would certainly recommend this kit!
