Im very happy with this cast iron roaster. The enamel coating means no seasoning and an easy cleanup. The matte interior lets fats and oils underneath allowing for superior browning and searing with an easy release. The natural properties of cast iron mean even heating and great heat retention. Its great for vegetables, amazing potatoes or a nice roast. I like to bring it right to the table to serve out of. The oval shape adds a softness over the traditional rectangle roaster design.

This roaster is so versatile. Its black matte finish on the inside of the pan allows for better browning, braising, and roasting. The heat capability is amazing, and it will stay hot for hours. Safe for use on all types of heat sources, including gas, electric, and induction, and oven safe up to 500F. Chip resistant and dishwasher safe.

When I see this matte black dish, I think of digging into a huge serving of baked mac and cheese. Granted, this oval gratin is much more versatile than just for that but the cast iron sure does make a perfect mac!
