Stand Up Desk Store Clamp-On Adjustable Height Desk Shelf Monitor Stand 120

I both love and hate this desk shelf. It is a heavy weight metal shelf, very sturdy and good quality. Unfortunately, there are three major issues with it. I bought the shelf to add more usable space on my standing desk. However, after attaching the shelf to my desk, I realized that I am now unable to use my VIVO monitor mount with the shelf in place. Whoever designed the shelf did not take this into account and made the shelf flush with the back of the desk mounts and thus, the desk itself. In order to use a VIVO mount the shelf itself needs to be offset forward at least the the width of the monitor mount pole so that it can attach to the desk. Because of this design flaw, I had to take my 27" monitors off of the mount and put them back on the stands they came with. Since the monitors are so large, they suck up any extra room I had hoped to add to my desktop and negate its purpose. Also, be advised, this shelf is HEAVY. The shelf mounts only accommodate about a 1" thickness desktop. Given the weight of the shelf, it should be able to allow for a thicker desktop to support the weight. Mine is a cheaper Ikea lacquer covered plywood combo and it is already showing cracking lines from the weight. I would suggest you have a solid wood desktop for this instead. Lastly, I needed to set the shelf to its highest possible height to fit my HP printer underneath and unfortunately this means that the shelf is being supported by only one screw instead of 2 on both sides because there is nowhere to put the second screw. The design of the base should allow for about an 8" height minimum. This shelf is too heavy to bother shipping back, especially during COVID-19 times so I will just make do. If none of these things I mentioned are an issue to you, you should buy it. It is still a good product, just not for everyone.
