Q: Ours is only working in try me mode and when i switch it to on it doesn’t work even with new batteries, is there something I’m doing wrong?

A: Only putting this here bc I came here with the same question after throwing out the manual prematurely. The hands can be pushed in and the toes of the sneakers slid up to make the 30 different noises. I stumbled on this solution, and hope this helps anyone in my position on the 2nd day after Christmas!

Defective
This toy did not work when taken off of try me mode. I replaced the batteries with new batteries fresh out of the pack and it still did not work past the try me mode. The try me mode only offers three phrases and running sounds when you press his shoes very disappointing. I thought it was just me but then looking at reviews it’s a common issue. I returned it.

Use his hands and feet to make him talk!
We were super bummed at first, he only worked in demo mode! Looked around the internet and he talks when you do kore than just press his tummy. Move his hands and he talks! Move his feet he talks! Press and hold his belly, he makes the charged up whooshing sound! How that helps!

My son loves it!

Bought this for our son and it’s amazing! Multiple reviews mention it “not working” or only saying 3 phrases once on “on mode”. That is not the case! Press his hand(s) inwards and with each press he says a different phrase! ◡̈ Also his shoes, with each press releases a speed sound! Have fun!
