Disappointed
Bought a dethatcher, then aerated, seeded with Scotts sun and shade, used starter fertilizer and got poor results after over 25 days. Began early September in the state of CT. Waste of money and time.

not all the seeds work... 70-75%...
I purchased the largest bag available and used it for 1/3 of the sqft area advertised hoping that it was going to even fuller than normal... i followed the spreader and watering instructions to the dot... the results after 3-4 weeks were not what I expected... Several areas with blanks..... so now i will have to reseed in all the blank spaces... I am wondering what would have happened if i used it in the area advertised... the blanks would have been even more...

We're sorry to hear you're disappointed with Scotts Turf Builder Sun & Shade Mix with Root Building Nutrients, and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know. We want you to feel confident in our products, so we're here to help. This grass seed germinates best when temperatures are consistently in the 65-80°F range. Soil temperatures must be at least 55°F and daytime temperatures need to consistently be above 65°F. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. Apply Scotts Turf Builder Sun & Shade Mix with Root Building Nutrients in an area that provides full sun to medium shade. This seed mix requires at least 4 hours direct or filtered sunlight per day. We stand behind our products, which is why we offer a product guarantee. If, for any reason, you're not happy with the results after using this product, you're entitled to get your money back. (Limitations apply.) If you need further assistance, please give us a shout at 888-270-3714.

The winner seed
I bought this product 3 times this spring. Early to sprout, usually in 4 days. Very happy with color.

Big Disappointment with Scotts Sun & Shade Mix.
Tried it on both areas Sun & Shade. Works great in the shade, watered daily. The sunny areas was a big Disappointment. A lot of work for seed preparation with 80% less coverage results in the sun.

Hello. We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Sun & Shade Mix with Root Building Nutrients and appreciate your feedback. When making an application of Scotts Turf Builder Sun & Shade Mix with Root-Building Nutrition, this grass seed germinates best when soil temperatures are above 55°F and air temperatures are consistently above 60°F. In the spring, it takes a lot of consistently warm temperatures to warm up the soil. Any weed control used prior to seeding, such as using the crabgrass preventer, will prevent seed from germinating. It can also take 6-14 days to notice results, but up to a month for all the seeds to germinate. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. If for any reason you, the consumer, are not satisfied with the results after using this product, you are entitled to get your money back. Limitations apply. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

Still waiting
It’s been two weeks and some days, still waiting to see if the grass will come. Is this normal?!

Hi, we're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Sun & Shade Mix and appreciate your feedback. You should start seeing germination in 6-14 days under ideal growing conditions. Will take about a month for all the seed to germinate. This grass seed will germinate best when temperatures are consistently in the 65-80°F range. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination.

Worst seed ever
Don't waste your money. Never came up. Followed all directions and watered twice daily. On another part of lawn, I use general purpose generic sun and shade and that came up in 7-9 days

The worst
Have been a faithful user until they changed to "combo." The worst possible product. Grass did not grow, weeds flourished and finally found the original just seed. If I can't find just the seed in the future, I will have to change to a new company's product. Just the worst.
