Big problem with the kettle base. Burning defect
I bought this a while ago but suddenly but working and I discovered that it was melting/burning in the base of the kettle. Thankful I was able to smell it and avoided it burning even more. I wish Salton can replace my unit because I do love it except for the dangerous problem it cause me.

Great while it lasted
I received this as a house warning gift 4 months ago, because everyone knows how much I love kitchen appliances and Salton in particular. However, this tea steeper kettle has started leaking after a little less than 4 month of use. It worked very well initially and the glowing light let my kid know it was in use, so dry away and let mommy know when the light had turned red. I noticed puddles around the kettle after few months and stopped using it. For picture, had filled the kettle with 1 litre of water and left it. There was a puddle which I cleane, but second picture shows the leak from one side only.

Good until it started leaking
I bought this kettle probably no more than 9 months ago. Loved it, would heat up fast and the lights were a great indicator when it was almost complete. But it started leaking from the bottom two days ago and I'm disappointed.

We use this kettle daily, both boiling water and steeping the tea. We love the changing of the colours with the temperature variation, as well as the hold feature so the water stays hot. It is also made remarkably well in stainless steel and glass, with easy to use buttons on the handle and easy to read display.

I use this kettle to make my baby's bottles! I love that I know how hot the water is just by the colour. It's great because I'm able to make his bottles super quick and I don't have to wait for the kettle to fully boil. I only boil it to my colour ;)
