Q: So many of the reviews say the consumers had "fish burps" after trying these multivites... however the product claims it is vegan, which would mean no fish. So... which is it? Are the fish burpers fibbing, or does this company consider fish a vegetable?

  • A: Thanks for reaching out! Our Essential Multivitamins are 100% vegan, and that includes our omega-3 DHA, which comes from algal oil, not fish. That said, since omega-3s (whether from fish or algae) have a naturally marine-like scent and taste, some customers may experience a “burpy” aftertaste similar to fish oil, even though there’s no fish in the formula. This varies by individual, and many find taking the multivitamin with food or before bed helps reduce any aftertaste. We hope this clears up the confusion!

For that reason, we recommend our Essential Postnatal, which is specifically designed to support nutrient demands for both parent and baby during lactation. As for the scent: we include a light essence (like mint or citrus) in the bottle to create a more pleasant experience when taking your daily vitamins. Since some supplements can naturally have a strong or oceanic smell, the essence helps make opening the bottle and swallowing the capsules a little more enjoyable (especially for those with sensitivity to smell).

Best Multivitamin

I have been taking the RITUAL Multivitamin for almost a year now and the biggest benefit I have experienced so far is being able to feel so great while everyone around me, family and friends, are soooo sick. I had no idea how important this would be to me! BEST MULTIVITAMIN I’ve ever taken.

Black Mold.

I seen amazing reviews regarding this product and I was beyond excited to try them. Yet, on my third day I was greeted by a nasty pill that was misshaped and appeared to contain black mold. If I would’ve injected this without noticing, it could’ve been very bad. I hope in the future they take quality control much more serious to prevent this.

Hi Angel! Thanks for bringing this up. If the dry ingredients of the nested capsule are exposed to the oil blend, you may notice that they turn darker in color. This does not mean they have gone bad, nor should it affect the quality, safety, or delivery of the multivitamin! The noticeable difference is due to the oil blend seeping into the inner cap, leading to a "darkening effect" when the oil blend comes into contact with the powder ingredients of the inner cap. That said, we want you to be comfortable with your multivitamins so if you'd prefer a replacement bottle, let us know and we'll send one your way. Additionally, we’d like to pass this along to the team so we can continue to mitigate these instances moving forward. I like them but my skin broke out

I have only been taking one per day for not even a week and my jaw and chest are starting to breakout. I believe it’s because of the B12. I was nauseous the first day in the evening when my body had started to digest it (I took it in the morning) but I haven’t felt nauseous since. It gave me some gas the first couple days but now my body has adjusted. I’ll continue to take the two bottles I bought and see what other benefits I notice. The skin breaking out is a bummer, it’s really painful acne.

I am not sure if capsule vitamins work but if there is one that does it would likely be this one! Plus good taste/smell and no adverse side effects while taking like nausea.

Not sure if the others reporting fishy burps have underlying GI issues, but I’ve had no problem with any kind of aftertaste with these vitamins. I take these on an empty stomach (and wash them down with my bloom greens).

Going on 3 years

I have been a user of Ritual Multivitamin 18+ for 3+ years now. I absolutely LOVE this product. One of the main reasons I take this multivitamin is because it is a delayed-release which makes help minimize (0% chance for me) nausea. Other brands, I am unable to take because they are not made like Ritual. I will always recommend this product!

Don't Take a Break

I really like ritual and can tell a difference taking it. I once took a break because I got laid off and regretted it. I tried gruins to try to combine Seed and Ritual into one and it just didn't have the same effects. I'll stick to using Ritiual + Seed for my vitamin needs.
