Rightline Gear Car Top Carrier - 3 Range

I bought this carrier in January of 2022 and used it 3 times on three separate 12 hour road trips. The vinyl has completely failed as depiicted in the attached picture and the strap connection piece even came unglued!

We purchased this for our move from TX to WA. We liked the size, we packed a lot of stuff in it. We took a 10 day road trip sight seeing along the way. At some point during the trip the bag ripped and fell apart on the front passenger side corner. There was a huge hole in it and the plastic was peeling away. It felt strong and well made but wasn't a match for our roadtrip.

Bought this to use for the beach and I have to tell you my husband was starting to get frustrated because I kept adding and adding more things to take out to the car because of all the room there was!! This held up so well! Very pleased with our purchase

If you have side bars on your vehicle go ahead, it’s a fine cheap alternative, but if you wanted this to use as it states, but clipping them inside the car DONT. Honestly save your marriage and just spend the money and get side bars installed on your car. It disrupts the seal to the vehicle so it constantly sounds like the windows are open, it’s so loud to drive on the highway with this thing, it sounds like you are in an airplane. It started to torrential downpour and water was pouring into our car, through all attachment straps. My kids were screaming and our seats soaked. I’m currently writing this after I have solidified a $500 install appointment for side bars for our vehicle. If you are on a tight budget and don’t need to drive on the highway for a long period of time it would work. But if you have the means, please do yourself a favor and spend the money to do a rooftop carrier right.
