Q: Does it leak if the lid is open?

A: I'm wondering why the brand expert said "this model is not designed to be leak-proof" because their own illustrations state "leak-proof" and "spill proof" five times! So, which is it?
submitted byJMel - 6 months agoA: Even with the straw lid open, this bottle doesn’t really leak. The straw is designed to self close, and as long as it hasn’t been chewed on, you can hold the bottle upside down and it won’t leak more than a drip or two. That said, make sure it’s all closed up and the latch flipped up if you’re putting it into a bag/backpack, otherwise there’s risk of the straw popping up and being pressed on.

Love this water bottle for my toddler! We’ve been using it for a few weeks now & it still looks brand bee. None of the images have started to come off like some of the other reviews have stated, but we only hand wash it. I really appreciate the soft straw on this & how easy it is to take apart to clean.

Perfect Water Bottle for Toddlers
If you’re looking for a spill-proof, toddler-approved water bottle, this is the one. The ONLY time you’ll get any liquid spilling from these is if the straw is pressed against something, and even then it’s not much that came out. I’ve tried shaking the bottle upside down with the straw out and got nothing. Even though these bottles are very lightweight they can withstand being thrown around (if your kids are anything like mine they throw everything). The last 24 hours with these and they have chucked it indoors and out and the bottles remained intact. I also like how these have the measurements on the sides. I’m not overly concerned about how many ounces the kids are drinking since they drink a couple water bottles worth, but it’s handy for those who do.

Not sure why this only has 4 stars. This is the best toddler cup I’ve found. So easy to clean. Does not leak! Even if the straw is open and tipped upside down. My toddler’s throw it around constantly and off their high chair and it’s held up for over 6 months now. Wish they came in more colors/designs than the few they have.

Look Elsewhere for a Kids Water Bottle

Terrible quality
We loved this water bottle for travel. It was easy for our toddler to use and the perfect straw for her. The quality is terrible though. Started leaking out of the bottom after only a couple months…no way to fix it and had to throw it out

Annoying that cannot purchase replacement straws
I like these, but the straws get separated and lost and cannot be replaced. Then they are useless.
