Book Synopsis
Discovering how prefab and modular innovation are redefining the way we build and live.
The prefabrication of components, rooms, or entire buildings has evolved from its origins in rationalized production to become a key area of architectural innovation. Today, rather than viewing it as a limitation, architects increasingly recognize it as an expansion of their creative agency. Within the controlled environment of the workshop, a new architectural culture is emerging, one that unites efficiency, precision, and material awareness with expressive design intent.Digital tools and technological advances further extend the scope for variation and refinement, transforming fabrication into an integral part of the design process. The projects presented in this volume demonstrate the various ways in which prefabrication can express architectural quality across materials, scales, and contexts. Together, they reveal a discipline in transition - one that is redefining the relationship between design, production, and the poetic potential of construction.
