Q: Will it run on a grassy surface?

A: It will, but it does a lot better on pavement. Don't try it on gravel. Battery runs down faster on grass or carpet as well. But, it will work as long as it's not wet.

A: You only get 180 day warranty. Our battery died and they wouldn’t send a replacement. It’s about $50 for a new battery but we paid almost $500 for the pony and only got about a years worth of play, if that. But it can be replaced.

Hoverboard right side charging issue
Less than 2 months after giving to 6 year old daughter for her birthday the right foot pedal stopped charging. She loved it for the short time it worked - used minimally & indoors only. The unicorn & hoverboard are useless now as we are outside of the 90 days from purchase window. Agree with the other reviews with same issue - DO NOT BUY!!

Battery replaced <1 yr
Our daughter got the Power Pony last Christmas from her Grandma. It is amazing, even I (40yo, 130# mom) can ride it! So many people love it. She has used it a handful of times on our cement driveway and at campground loops. That being said, it should have at least lasted until this Christmas (1 whole year), right? I give it 3 stars because it is an amazing ride on toy for all to enjoy, although it can whip you around so kids do need to wear helmets...BUT, we had to replace the battery in the hoverboard already in less than a year and what I would consider "minimal use."

I purchased this last year for my daughter (6). She still loves it. We keep it inside and it still works well. Just need to be careful not to increase the speed too quickly through the app. The fastest speed is pretty fast, for a kids toy.

Great product but only worked for 6 months
Honestly I wanted to give the power pony a great review because my girls loved it so much. I was worried about their ages and who would be able to play with it surprisingly my 8,7 and 4 year old all loved it and could play. I was going to buy another one because they really loved it but after 6 months it quit working. The manual says not to leave it plugged in after it is fully charged so we made sure not to. Also it says not to leave it not charged and sitting for long periods which we never did. I don’t know why it broke but $499 is what I paid and for a ride-on I thought that was a little bit pricey, but after buying it, it was worth it until we only got six months use out of it. I have an older child too, and when he was their age, I bought him a Hoverboard and he had the hardest time riding so the power pony concept I thought was great. It teaches them how to balance and work a hoverboard and then you can disconnect it from the pony later. Wonderful concept and would be so worth the money if we could’ve done that but again six months of use really disappointed me and my girls are sad it doesn’t work anymore.

Battery Fails
The battery fails. I had to get a new engine sent three times. After this last one we threw it away. Big waste of money. If you want something that works, is fast, and lasts a long time go to bigtoysgreencountry . For this price it’s ridiculous the amount of people who run into this same issue.

Not worth it
The quality is not worth the price. It doesn’t go straight all of the time. Only the reverse on the right side works, not forward and only most of the time, not all of the time. Unfortunately it is past the return window and it isn’t letting me get technical support to try to fix it either.

Below is the calibration information: Please be sure to start the process with a FULLY CHARGED Zume Engine. *NOTE: DO NOT CALIBRATE THE POWER PONY WHEN IT IS PLUGGED INTO THE CHARGER. 1. When you attach the engine to the Power Pony, the sides of the engine may not look level. 2. Be sure to place your Power Pony on a level surface for calibration. 3. Make sure both sides of the engine are level. This can be done using a tool or you can "eyeball it". 4. Once both sides of the engine are level, hold the left side of the engine and press the POWER button until the flashing lights come on. Hold 5-7 seconds before releasing the power button. 5. Power off the engine. 6. Wait 5-7 seconds before turning ON the Power Pony. 7. You are now READY TO RIDE! PLEASE NOTE: ・If the Power Pony is lifted while it is powered ON, it may need to be recalibrated. ・If the Power Pony begins spinning, or not going straight forward or backward, it will need to be recalibrated. ・If the Power Pony is ridden on uneven surfaces for periods of time, it may need to be recalibrated.

I was so excited for my daughter to have this unicorn hoverboard, and it worked great for the first three months. Unfortunately, one side stopped functioning and no longer moves forward. Since it was just outside the warranty period, the only option offered was to purchase a replacement hoverboard for $150. Given the original cost of the product, I’m really disappointed that I have to replace the whole thing so soon. If it malfunctions again, I will definitely be posting an update.
