Make water worse
Bought 4 packs of these filters (each pack has 4 filters), I have tried at least half of them (8+ filters), every time I put it in the water fountain, next day the water just turned black with particles in there, then I just have to swap in a new one. Never expect such low quality filters from PetSafe, I will never buy these again.

We're so sorry for any confusion about using these filters, Hugo! If you are seeing black residue after installing a filter, this would just be excess filter material; it is safe, as it is the same material within the filter that removes bad tastes and odors from the water. Though a bit of residue will always occur when filters are used, to prevent excess amounts we do recommend thoroughly rinsing each new filter under cool water until the water runs clear.
