Long-inspired to record with an early mentor, the great Chicago pianist Willie Pickens, guitarist Peter Lerner formed a quartet with Pickens, bassist Marlene Rosenberg, and drummer Charles Heath and spent two years developing their rapport and repertoire for this recording.
